THE EMPIRE, CAOMHNOIRI, MIRUVHOR, KING PART II [Spring 1943]

The case of Deldritch was also mentioned as a polemic against the
the Empire and its alleged spinelessness regarding the sorry state
of Miruvhor and its squatters, Despair and the Cartel. On the
other side, the while the presence of Ilthrain as a Tribune was a
reprieve from the general outpouring of vitriol spouted during the
meeting against the Tribunal.

Finding the One King was also brought up as a concern which places
heavy implications on all denizens of Aabahran. Karishin Jores,
Warlord of the Camp, has stated repeatedly that he will never bow
the knee to any King, but the Duke has been vociferous about how
bending the knee would not necessarily be needed to achieve unity.
Such a concept seems wildly risky, however, since it has only been
ten years since Karishin and Regent Kimril fell out which spurred
a costly and brutal land-conflict that lasted years.

Sir Tarsonis and the Duke both have great hope in the prospect of
a coming King that can unite the lands against the Rift; they do
not seem to be the only ones, as rumors and allegiance to a crown
have already begun to crop up within the common people, namely
small children who have grown to love stories about a man with
power to protect against any and all monsters.

This, of course, is the epitome of the radical Knight, the root
Knight, one that seeks a King who will repeat what the first King
did: win the War of the Legion and close the Rift. This new
monarchy, however, will not be able to co-exist with the Empire,
as both sides will inevitably compete on the "correct" way to go
about city management. The Duke has taken up the task of somehow
convincing Marshall Belderon to also bend the knee to this King.

Meanwhile, the Marshall has his own plans on how to best correct
the Drkshtyre plague, and several more meetings, with various
combinations of participants, will be required before resolution
can be achieved.
