Me and My Knife by Teltar
Odes and Expressions · by Herald Elesa Anah
We've walked a lonely path our entire life, me and my knife
We've seen the truth of evil, and been rife with much strife
We've... watched our mother become a whore to pay the rent in miruvhor as our father went off to war to some tropical distant shore. We've walked a lonely path our entire life, me and my knife We've seen the truth of evil, and been rife with much strife
We've... watched my sister killed by the craze and no one breaks their gaze as a child dies as she plays because she does not worship in their ways
We've... watched great men reduced to slaughter over some petty sense of honor as small children go without water and a priestess refuses to lay her hand upon her.
We've... watched the light represent but one path which seems to take a cut and make it a bath because we all must suffer their god's wrath even if it means more die, when we do the math.
We've... watched firsthand the truth of evil as we murdered a man for the mere retrieval of a sandwich, which caused no upheaval because, to us, it was primeval.
I was raised in the ways of Malanith and Guile
my mother was a great one at it, lying as she would smile but as their back turned, a dagger she would place with style. So, you see, I am not uneducated in the ways of the vile.
Am I alone to see how their lies change? One moment all immortal, the next dead at the hand of another How strange are the rules they alone can arrange?
