Ode to Volgathras
Odes and Expressions · by Scribe Desprak Izmahl
The following is a record of a performance given by Merchant
Prince Meerdus, an ode to Lord Volgathras. It has been recorded upon request.
Meerdus points at the wardrum on the ground. Meerdus utters the words, 'Gjwwai uizug wlghuq paieg', and the wardrum glows a soft blue light for a moment, and begins to strike a rhythm on it's own. Meerdus begins to play a calm, melancholic melody with his lyre.
Meerdus sings- Once upon a time, in a land far away
Meerdus holds a slight pause in the singing. Meerdus continues singing- There was a warrior of might Filled with a bloodlust at height With a hunger for violence so fierce To imbue hearts of allies with fear Meerdus holds a slight pause in the singing. Meerdus sings- A dark being made himself a curse By taking the warrior for nurse Not realizing it's time was soon over As warrior fed on twisted chaos and power
Meerdus quickly reaches towards the wardrum with his hand, and snaps his fingers, causing the rhythm to grow intense. Meerdus begins to play more inspiring melody, slightly increasing his voice.
Meerdus sings- Driven by a thirst for greater disorder
Leaving behind a line of corpses and odor With the aid of terrifying blade Was ranks of demons on ground laid
All sudden, Meerdus grabs a hold on the Blonkeywan and strikes a note from the lyre with it. You can feel the shriek deep in your bones!
Meerdus sings- No warning given
No prophecy livin To prepare our homes nor soldiers For the upcoming horrors and tears
Meerdus holds a slight pause in the singing. Meerdus sings- No matter if he cannot roast a pig As he is a master of plots so thick Cruel webs of lies in a swear You are the one he eventually spear Meerdus holds a slight pause in the singing. Meerdus sings- Your soul is only a food on sale Through promises you become a slave Chaos is all from him you can muster As he is the disorder's true master!
Meerdus finishes the song with slow fade, following
the wardrum's disappearing rhythm.
