Karishin-Warlord History III
Tales and Stories · by Herald Xanthis Ignifirum
Shortly after Thulgan Resh'hall fell, the Nexus Fortress was in shambles. They quickly capitulated, offering peace so long as they were allowed to keep land north of Maelbrim. Pew's treachery was further revealed here, as he moved against peace with those who were offering Tribute, while seeking to force the Camp to bend the Knee in peace to the Knights who were still resilient and war-like. This was when I began to realize the extent of his treachery.
With the war winding down with the Nexus, and the Knights growing tired of the conflicts, I presume pressure was put on Pew from externals and it finally came to a head with the rest of the Camp. We denounced each other publically after a series of brooding conflicts which unfortunately were openly revealed to enemy forces. I decided I would seek the council of Tongar, but Pew, perhaps knowing his treason could not remain hidden much longer forced the issue. He challenged me in a battle to the death to settle the future of the Camp, or at least so he hoped.
I should admit, that in the days prior, though our skirmishes were close, Pew was always triumphant. This however, was partially due to the fact that I had kept a secret. I had forgone the use of extensive supplies, so he never really understood the full extent of my abilities. That is not to say I was not worried. He issued a scroll to the Camp declaring Rank and Position did not matter, and that the Duel was agreed to be to the finish. We met on the field.
The sun was burning high in blue sky as we faced off in the Ford south of the Camp. The battle was not prolonged, and without much due we went for each other's throats. This time I gave the fight everything I had, as if he were the Timelord himself, and for all intensive purposes, this internal threat might have posed as great a danger.
