Tribunal Cabal
An Introduction to Cabals · by Scholar Dinkirus Vick
Those serving to protect the interests of citizens in lawful towns are in Tribunal. It stands as the sole force of law in Aabahran. Its members are bound by the same laws as every citizen and stand for the law and not above it. Every citizen can read more about the current laws created by the High King Martineius in the Great Library.
Not all towns are under the eye of Tribunal. It is however, every Tribunes duty to protect the lawful cities. Being lawful citizens themselves, Tribunes will patrol these cities, protecting all people from crime, be they citizens of the town or not. They protect people from things ranging from displaying unsheathed weaponry in public, to murder, obstruction, and assault, in which more strict penalties will befall the criminal. One can determine if a city is lawful or not by looking about for guards or detecting the presence of law.
Those that choose to break the law may find themselves wanted by Tribunal. They may be sought after by guards in town or by the Tribunes themselves. Repeat offenders are subject to being outlawed. These outlaws are no longer protected by laws and may be assaulted and/or killed by anyone anywhere, including in lawful cities.
Those that enter into the ranks of Tribunal may find themselves moving toward one of two paths upon promotion. The Council among Tribunal serve as politicians, striving to maintain political control over the lawful cities of Aabahran. They maintain laws and enforce them through passive means. Enforcing law through a more direct approach, the Adjudicator are equipped more than their counterparts to apprehend criminals. They are the enforcers, judges, and hands of the law, making sure those violating the law are brought to justice.
