Law Tome
Removed Tribunal Statutes · by Scholar Aughlald
The cities serve as Aabahran's final bastions against the endless tides of Chaos that seek to engulf the entire world. The rulers of these cities have laid down their individual Scriptures of Law, and in most cases have entrusted the enforcement of those laws to the organization known as Justice. The formidable forces of Justice are responsible for diligently keeping the streets safe for all citizens nevertheless it is each and every citizen's duty to actively cooperate with the Law. Only with such orderly cooperation may the stability of the walls be ensured.
The officials of Justice advise that every citizen carry a weapon with them at all times. Although the threat of external attack is minimal, it is the solemn duty of every citizen to bear arms and fight alongside their comrades in the event of such an attack. Justice actively deploys scouts and reconnaissance teams around all protected areas for the safety of all. When a cry is raised, citizens should brandish their weapons and form a battle line alongside Justice's city guards. Against such threats, there is strength in numbers. For your courageous cooperation, Justice shall monetarily reward you for each fallen invader.
In addition to providing protection against external threats, Justice Sentinels work to prevent criminal activity. Justice officials are extremely happy to report that the vast majority of citizens are law abiding. Unfortunately, there are a few twisted beings that wish to cause harm to these peaceful citizens. If you should be targeted by one of these individuals, or witness any offense, you should inform the nearest Justice officer immediately. It is strongly recommended that you stay within the outer gates, as the sanctuary of Justice enforced Order does not extend beyond them.
It is prudent to remember that the apprehension of criminals is the duty of the Justice officers. Justice employs specialized and highly proficient Enforcers whom all have the primary duty of apprehending such criminals. When a lawbreaker is marked, all of the numerous veteran Justice sentries will attempt to capture the offender. Justice affiliated shopkeepers will also bar all service to all criminals. It is in the best interest of all to not supply or harbor any known offender.
Among the greatest threats to your safety are the outlaws. If an outlaw is spotted, one should contact a Justice officer and proceed to strike the said outlaw down immediately. Outlaws are not protected by the Law as they actively seek to destroy it. One must have a callous disregard for the Law, and life in general, to become an outlaw. All external invaders of Justice shielded areas are considered outlaws. Any support of such outlaws only fuels the endangerment of not only your own home and life, but those of your peers and family also.
In most sanctioned areas it is considered illegal to actively engage any non-outlaws, even in defense. Keep in mind that all disarmed weapons are still considered property of their owners. Practitioners of supernatural forces should also take note that even such arts as Faerie Fog and Summon are illegal. Failure to remember these items may result in you becoming a criminal. If you do happen to be marked as a criminal, you should surrender to the nearest guard immediately. Justice officials look particularly favorably upon those that seek to work together with the Law. If you attempt to avoid capture, Justice Enforcers will hunt you down whether you are a simple farmer or a trained assassin. Both will be apprehended with equal ease.
Collaboration and a sense of righteous Lawfulness are the only safeguards against those that seek to cause the final bastions of Order to fall into Chaos. Those bastions are your home.
