The demon Puerilaug
Faces In Time · by Herald Firular Sikkuioupius
I have first met the demon named Puerilaug just as they gained their peak in the guild of the necromancers. As a Herald, I was always curious about these unique beings and have managed to initiate a conversation about their creation or transformation, as well as their goals and ambitions. At that time they were not yet a member of any faction, and were unwilling to disclose much. Probably it was a lack of trust, as they must have sensed my questions as being too intrusive. Some time after our first encounter they became a member of the Savant Tower, and quite powerful in their own right. At the time of this writing however, the demon has been exiled from the Tower by the goddes Lloth.
What follows is a transcription of a scroll the demon wrote themselves, without any embellishments or changes from my side as I find the text of good literary value. ............................................................................. One thing you must realize about us is that we've been here before. We have tasted the sweet honey of life and have known defeat. Perhaps that is what makes us appreciate things so much more during the second go around. We used to reside in the body of a Warmaster. He was a furious sword swinger. He would go Insane with rage. Its testosterone levels where through the roof. When we choose him we saw much raw strength, but we had only just formed a relationship with the many souls that encompass a Demon. Speaking of Demon. We are all different. We are made from the Dark Prince, but as he stomps life into us and spits all over our body blasting vellum into our being things can get messy. Hence why some demons are different then others. Let us take Subjugant as an example. A great Demon, but it uses its souls differently then us. It uses them and gets lost in what they used to be. We on the other hand know we are made up of many sould which then lead to one being, but forever will we be we, and we do not expect your to understand. This takes nothing away from Subjugant just shows you that we are all not alike. Now as we were staying. We started of as a Warmaster. Though our host wasn't as strong as we liked. We ended up being enslaved to a book by magics of a Cleric and swore we would never be fooled in this way again. When we met Iqual, we knew he was the one. He was strong, curious, and he possessed the mystic energies we required. So many others had touched the book, but he was the one we chose. He was so strong that we nearly died trying to join with him. It was us or both of us lying dead in a cave. Now once Iqual was found worthy, it was up to the Dark Prince to seek our worth. Now he is an asshole. He is so consumed with himself he no doubt does not even remember making us, but he will know us and our name will go on as one of the best to serve him. After he smashed us all together we became what we are now, but at first things are messy and confusing. We wanted to go to the tower and harness its power for us to become powerful beings. What we didn't realize is that some of our previous traits would carry over on to our new host. We remembered Loyalty. We remembered honor. We always wanted to serve the tower, and so we did. We sat there commanding an army of zombies to lift the tower, now things did not go exactly according to plan, but in the end the job got done with the help of the other Magi. We respected this. We respected the way that we all worked together. We put aside our lust for power and realized that power came in many ways shapes and forms. We learned about family and we liked what we saw. Many warmasters fell. Many standards where taken and we waited thinking we would be rewarded for our actions. That is when we learned another lesson. Expect nothing. Trust no one. Do not give yourself to those who do not deserve it. We gave everything to the Tower and it was spit back in our face. Over things that had nothing to do with us. They were not issues that had to do with Savants. They were issues between Lloth and the Dark Prince, and we stand by our Decision. We were cast out of the Tower. Led to a life on the run. Are we supposed to prove something? We do not know. What we do know is we have a blood brother in Vethorn and together we will rise about the petty of differences of men and together learn to wield the powers of the God. Lloth saw our strength and that is why she tried to weaken us. We will forever be brothers in Discord!
