With all the resources constantly being drained from the Imperial coffers, from training soldiers to rebuilding efforts, it has come to be my belief that those whom we protect who can afford to help in the efforts should. All Imperial Citizens are subject to his law, with the ruling Council the issuers of said taxation.

Law: For taxation purposes, once per year the Empire has the

authority to enroll a taxation census. All Imperial citizens must pay this in order to shoulder their share of the weight for the freedom and protection they receive, while Imperial blood is spilled in their name. Five hundred gold coins will be charged per guild rank to each guild member. Furthermore, an additional twenty five hundred gold coins will be charged for Temple upkeep, and an additional twenty five hundred coins for city maintenance. When the tax is paid, a record with a receipt will be sent to the Empire as well as the Imperial Subject.

Penalty: Failure to pay the taxes will result in a warrant issued for the citizens arrest. No penalty harsher than maximum bail may be issued on the offender, as this is a non violent crime. Imperial subjects have one week from the time the tax request is made until the warrant is issued. They do not have to be in the city for the warrant as this is an Empire wide matter for all citizens who live in Tribunal controlled cities. If a citizen is arrested for not paying his taxes, after his jail time is served or bail paid, he will be marked off as clear on the tax records.

Exemptions and Extensions: Citizens may file a request to be

excused from taxes if they have a legitimate reason. This can be due to health, monetary, or other issues. The request must be filed within one year of tax request.
