The Agmeel's First Decree

Removed Tribunal Statutes · by Academician Rynon

The Golem of laws first and main priority is making Val Miran inhabitable and safe once again.

The Agmeel is fully versed with all prior laws of history put forth from those better than itself. Thus, a reinstitution of a law that was put forth by the one known as "Lord Kyris Zyther" Would assist the once beacon of light in our empire, as it did then. The Agmeel has made changes to this law to abide by the current situation as well as the changing of times, but the inspiration was granted from his tome.

Law: For taxation purposes, once per year the Empire has the authority to enroll a taxation census. All Imperial citizens must pay this in order to shoulder their share of the weight for the freedom and protection they receive. Five thousand gold coins will be charged per citizen, per year. If this citizen does not wish to pay the taxes twelve hours of labor in the Agmeel building facility may be substituted. All funds are to be held in the Tribunal coffers to aid in the reconstruction of Val Miran. Once the city is back to its former glory, the tax will be re-evaluated.

Penalty: Failure to pay the taxes will result in a warrant issued for the arrest. They do not have to be in the city for the warrant as this is an Empire wide matter for all citizens who live in Tribunal controlled cities. If a citizen is arrested for not paying his taxes or substitution of labor, after his jail time is served or bail paid he will be marked off as clear on the tax records.

Exemptions and Extensions: Citizens may file a request to be excused from taxes if they have a legitimate reason. This can be due to health, monetary, or other issues. The request must be filed within one year of tax request.
