The Root of the Problem
Heralds of Aabahran · by Scholar Aikkao
Some say the world is sick. The world is old and dying. The world can not be fixed. Most people have their own opinion of the world but one fact remains, if you do not like it, you have to change it yourself
I am Aikkao and the health of the world is my cause. All my life I have been taught about the body and how to heal it. My inquisitive mind took study quickly and I became a forerunner in the study of herbs as well as the integration of them into medical practice. This lead me to officially join the Medici of the Healers where I truly received the Grace of Koevhar.
People tend to confuse a symptom with a disease. For example, if someone has a cough, you can make the cough go away with some simple herbs. In this case you have treated the symptom but the cause of the cough is still there. The disease can still harm the host or even kill it. To truly heal the person, you must treat the source and cure the disease.
Some turn to killing to change the world. Likewise some deal in fear, greed, lust, vengeance, and even madness. The effectiveness of such as a treatment is questionable at best. Even then you can only hope to treat a symptom but it does nothing to treat the disease. So I made a choice to shed the bindings of violence and stand against the temptation of the easy road. Once you open your eyes, there is so much more to the world than the petty schemes of men.
So how do you heal the world? I submit to you that the world is not sick. Rather it is the doctor and we are the patients. This is why I aspired to the Heralds, to help people understand and open their eyes. After all, the Heralds open doors, eyes and minds. They always have and always will. Here, once again, I discovered a new found appreciation for Koevhar. New ways to treat the people also opened up to me. Linguistics, Patience, Diplomacy, Open Mindedness, Literature, and Arts all became tools of healing.
The world is not sick. It is not old and dying. It does not need to be fixed. The world is but a child, ready to be shaped into an adult. Yet here I stand upon it and it is the one healing and shaping me. The mission Koevhar gave me is daunting when looking at the whole of it. Though taking too many steps back can make a man loose perspective. There is so much to know and so many friends to make. Yes, so many hearts to heal too. I do not know if I will ever finish but I owe it to the world and each and every one of you to do my best and leave the world better than I entered it.
