Laelanis' Drow Origins

Before I can discuss the Drow in full, first I must discuss how we came to be, and how we came to Aabahran. It is worth noting that much of this account is speculative, only recounted once in our discovered archives, and thus cannot be verified with great accuracy. Such is, however, the nature of ancient history.

The Drow began as Elves, a race you are all more or less familiar with. We were brought to life by the Creator, the same God which the Order of Crusades devotes itself to. Unlike the other races which sprang forth from the energies of the Prime of Life, we were intelligent, created with purpose and modeled for efficiency. It was our charge to watch over the world we inhabited, and uphold order in the wake of the servants of Chaos which sought to undo creation. As more worlds were shaped by Order, so too were we sent to guard them. This continued on for thousands of years, in a time designated by the Elves as "The Dawning of the Stars".

As time progressed, so did Elven society. Cities were built, Kings and Queens arose, and nations were born from their leadership. The seat of the Elven Empire was our homeworld, called Iluthari. From Iluthari, it is said that the Elves were able to communicate with distant worlds, and unify all Elves as one people. While the ritual and incantations are lost to time, there is an allusion to mystical energy that allowed for such communication. Through unity, the Elven Empire managed to isolate the influence of Chaos to a remote world, new to creation, called Aabahran.

With the agents of Chaos all but defeated, the Elven Empire

prospered, and began focusing inward. Laws were created, standards were set, and the vanity afforded by victory took root. The monarchy, which had done well in the years of war campaigns, was brought into question in this time. Many opposed the absolute power held by King Dalethin, and civil unrest rose.

As tensions rose, action was taken by the King to quell the

uprising, inciting the Creator as his claim, stating that the Monarchy was established as the Creator willed it to be. His detractors would claim that his vanity had led to unneeded suffering, and that Chaos still thrived on Thera because the monarchy needed it in order to remain in power. Eventually, the resistance organized, and the true history of many prominent figures comes to light.
