Perhaps instead of the killing blow, perhaps whoever was the main defender decide what gold gets split or autoloots.
This will protect against people who come in and try to get the last hit on a mob, patricularly at lower levels.
And nothing sucks more than ranking, with someone who is proboly in and out, or afk most of the time not splitting the gold while you lead them and tank.
Doesn't that just make it so the tank has the potential to forcefully take all the gold? At least if it is last kill, it'll get switched up a bit.
People stealing gold is an IC issue anyways and there are many IC ways to 'deal' with it.
I would personally be more worried about people stealing my XP this way, rather than simple gold.
Actually I think it's a good idea, but making it count for XP. The tank (and his group) should be the ones getting the XP no matter who lands the finishing blow. Although, that can be abused quite badly, by lowbies with OOC connections with pins.
The actual mechanic is fine.
If your group partners are not sharing the loot, ungroup from them, or just man up and kill them.
If you are doing Discord and you did not get that ring you wished, man up and kill your group. FL this days is care bears playground.
When I started playing I got PKed at L10 by a DK, just cause. Got killed by a Necro groupmenber cause I was complimenting his acid blast power. He just said, "yeehh, just watch this" and proceed to acid blast me to my pit.
Being Evil is not about a brotherhood and fighting good. Its about thinking about you first.
Being Evil is not about a brotherhood and fighting good. Its about thinking about you first.
As I've stated many times before, in FL, this is not necessarily always the case. Evil can be a cause in FL, not just a personality trait - there are reasons undead don't kill each other, and similar reasons can apply to other groups of evils.
As for the idea... I like Foxx's alteration, making it deal with XP-gain and giving it to the tank and the tank's group. Not sure it's really a change I'd consider terribly necessary though... it's not really a situation that comes up all that often.
This change would not work, as the "tank" is not always someone you can trust...but often times may be someone who you are following out of neccesity.
