I could see Watcher using a type of coup system under the guise of an "alpha male" tradition...such as...the strongest (possesses the most combat prowess) in the Cabal, leads...pure and simple. "shrug"
Goodie coup?
Personally, I'd deny each and every challenge in these situations especially if I had something to lose. No reason to fight - if the IMM thinks different let them do the dirty work.
I see this as something pandering to pure powergamers who roll foils hoping to 'cheap' a cabal promo somewhere. Fail. At least with coup you just suspect everyone and don't stand near cabalmates when they are hurt (which makes it really hard to get into the cabal team spirit but hey....) Especially true of 'rising stars' who you know have playtime to burn.

I kinda like the concept, but without limitations, it rewards power-PKers, even ones whose RP might not be up to snuff.
What if, after careful consideration and snooping, an IMM would grant the T the ability to challenge. It would be like getting granted the ability to write an application. Once you have gained permission by the IMM (due to great RP AND viable PK), then you can challenge. I think this might be better than just leaving it up to the player to coup at will without having proven his loyalty and dedication to the cabal and its philosophies.

in effect, thats how the current coup systems work. If you just randomly coup some elder, I know in Nexus Anume will bitch slap you down pretty quick if she doesnt htink your up to snuff.
There is little need for COUPs in good cabals.
Since you can have multiple Elders.
But...
I think Eldership should be easier to attain, and a bit based on time.
When you are the eldest member of a cabal you should get auto Eldership.
But I also think that all cabals should have a Leader.
And that this position should be challengable by the Elders.
For example. Warmasters should have a leader and a Ladder for it.
Breeding competition inside Warmasters for it's position.
Using the challenges commands they could climb the ladder inside the cabal.
Talk about a solution to promote longevity. ![]()
I actually agree. Why does the E/L spot need to be so prestigious and rare? How do you RP a member of an organization that has no leadership? Why can't we have mediocre leaders?
No Watchers and you make a Watcher? Why not be the leader? Who else is commanding you, the IMM?
Would give some continuity to our timeline too if we could mark the starting dates of each leader (OOC and IC) starting from now.
It would also give newbies some serious incentive to stick with characters. I bet you'd see a lot more condeaths too.

Celerity, I think the worst idea you ever had was moving to asia. I really like the idea of faster promotions, maybe not lightning fast of course, but maybe some more hardline requirements for elderleader etc.
Why was moving to asia the worst idea I ever had?
I thought the worst idea I ever had was drinking a pepsi my mom left open in the basement for weeks when I was a kid.
I spit out a giant spider (after running outside with it in my mouth), ran back in to show my brother, and to my dismay, ants carried the spider away before he got there. ![]()
Lol at the spider story.
There is nothing hindering you from jousing even now, make your cabal Imm aware of the situation and have him/her stage it. We will most certainly do it, might even advertise it and make it a mini event.

We are finally on the same wave. Agreed with everything the woman said.
That's the distinction I was trying to figure out how to word.
Leave it to the jarhead to make that distinction
I thought the army was composed of jarheads and the Marines were leathernecks?
Either way, well said.
I want to joust Pali.
Mali vs. Pali, and the loser has to give up the "ali" and create a new forum name consisting of only "P" or "M".
OR. we can call it the MvP match ![]()
All right, Mali. Next Madness, you and I will both make human paladins, get the Madness eq, and fight each other.
Why does it even matter? Figuring out the winner between you two is gonna be like the special olympics. Sure you might have won, that just means your the best mentally retarded guy there. Your really more worried about the juice after anyway.
You cut me deep, nameless.
Your really more worried about the juice after anyway.
True enough. How's it feel to be the one who didn't even make it into the games and is stuck serving it to us?
At least I can get a job as a Bartender. Your stuck with fast retard.
You're confusing serving juice with making drinks. The latter at least requires some level of mental competence - which is why you didn't get that job. ![]()
