I've been thinking on something for a while, and I've decided to share my thoughts with you.
The RP behind the different fractions in Savant is quite odd for me. We have Temporums who are supposed to be more agressive (something like Knight's praetorians and Nexus' reavers), and then we have Mysterums who are supposed to be more passive (sigil/pandy). There is a nice RP behind Watcher's fraction, Warmaster's fractions and even Tribunal's fractions. Savant's fractions' RP though seems a bit "copied" and out of place. So I suggest the following:
Savant to be devided into two new fractions: one that studies arcane magic (invokers, battlemages and everything that casts) and another that studies divine magic (clerics, shamans and everything that communes). Psi's are to go towards the arcane part.
I haven't thought about skills, but temporum's skills seem OK. Mysterum's skills though are definately lacking and could use some upping and re-working in order to fit into the new RP. Skills are not a problem though, I wanna hear what you think this new RP first.
The idea that Temporum is aggressive and Mysterum is passive is just completely wrong. People may have gotten this misconception based upon their skillsets; however, read the helpfiles.
I did. If I got it wrong, please correct me?
Mysterum:
Eccentric and unpredictable,
MYSTERUM are the eyes and ears of SAVANT, casting their gaze beyond, in
efforts to garner what will aid their quest to bring knowledge to the
masses.
Temporum
Their minds are like knives, and their whispers are words with power to
cut open the curtains of universe and reveal the treasures beyond. With
the flow of time at their beck and call few are those whom would dare to
oppose them.
Also, I've never really understood this RP about time and stuff...
Still my suggestion stands.
Mysterum Skillset + Healer = virtual immortality, you will only kill this healer if he allows you to. If said Healer has an enemy that his god would actually allow him to kill, undeads and such, he may choose to be very aggressive, With Pheole I remember battling a certain famous "messy"(cant remember how to spell her name) female vamp syndy over and over. While my limited pk skills never took her down, I did manage to drive her into hiding on an occasion or two. Just ONE skill for the mysterums that caused damage, and I would have done far better. As a matter of fact looking back, when I had Pheole (dwarf nature mysterum Healer), Cylandes was in charge. Our Rp's were near to spot on as described in the quotes you used Foxx. Pheole(mysterum) was passive, Cylandes was aggressive. However, not all of my healers in savant have been passive, Fezbit served combat. The key words in the mysterum quote above are Eccentric and unpredictable. This is why MOST savant healers end up outcasted in the end, their eccentric attitudes allows them to tolerate the less than admirable deeds of their comrades.
I still think that a separation of arcane and divine magic would be far more suitable for a cabal dedicated to magic.
shrugs
being able to choose your path is a big part of Savant.
If you did that, there would be no more choice.

snort I'm gonna put you over my knee and give you a RP whoopin' you neutral alignment playing baaaa-stud!
Where you draw your source of power from (as cleric or mage) while quite unique is not relevant to the limitless powers gleaned from the greater studies within Savant (Mysterum, Temporum) AND what you do with your power is up to you as long as you meet two requirements based upon: Further advancement of knowledge to the masses/kicking the **** out of Warmasters/taking land AND if you're divine, obeying the requirements of your deity.
Take my word on it. I'm an old and powerful wizard!
Hah!
That's what I always loved about Savant, they let maniacs like Cylandas meddle with the Time Stream...
