limit who can see your gear.

I don't think people should be able to see what gear your wearing unless they are in your pk range, every time i walk into a room some lowbie looks at me and doesnt say ANYTHING, geee i wonder what their looking for... about a 99% chance their deciding if they want to get onto their lvl 50 and attack me for gear.

You see i've noticed why i have such a hard time at 50... im logged in my lvl 50 for 4-5 hours straight trying to explore and learn things while other players will stay logged into a lowbie and wait for people they know they can kill or look for specific items on lvl 50's that they want and they won't log in UNLESS they KNOW its worth a possible death.

There's at least one way to do this in game already.

And anyone who was doing that would get caught pretty quickly. It's illegal to log lowbie out, log level 50 in within a certain time period.

Besides, what are all the newbs gonna aspire to if they don't know what equipment is out there?

It seems sandbox that you get very attatched to gear. So here is my challenge to you. Use ONLY stuff you can get by yourself, start adventuring far out to get harder stuff. Now you can PK for gear, but go on no trips to get stuff.

About the only faction that cannot be easily done solo is magic, and it can still be done alone. Try this for a while, and you will begin to see that gear is assistance, not assurance.

you'd actually be surprised how little i care about gear, the problem is melee kinda depends on gear, more specifically weapon selection. Even if i do use the right weapons its hard to kill someone with a lvl 30 spear. I've been using a ranger staff for darn near a month now, when i finally got anything decent and started to pk with it i get targeted, which i guess is the point of the whole rare system, but i've caught a few people looking at me at low lvls silently and asked them what their reasoning was most didn't reply, one guy even said " you should feel honored i even thought it necessary to look at you most people do not warrant me to keep an eye on them." this toon was under lvl 30 at the time. Why the heck should a lvl 30 need to keep an eye on my gear? I seriously doubt any of these people were looking for my description and you can rp just fine without looking at someone's gear.

your probably right about the first part, and yea i know the game isn't all about gear but thats also kinda like saying this game isn't all about power combos.. ( while the statement is true its certainly not the trend.)

on my rangers? i try to have magical spear, mundane spear, magical axe, mundane axe, and a no-remove staff at a bare minimum. edit: lately this seems impossible lol.

If this happens you need to post on prayer and include both names (the lobbied and pinnacle). The imms will take care of it, and they won't rat at you for being curious or paranoid about it. The least they can do is tell you its not the same player and to carry on. I for one usually don't have more than 2 characters on duty at the same time. I used to hae 4 cabaled chars! Highschool... sigh

You shouldn't have more than one caballed character for TWO reasons:

1. You can just keep with whichever cabal gets you more. aka partially active until the cabal is in better shape

2. Vendetta/Opposing cabal/inside info thingie...
