You do realise that zerks already have it ALL over monks right? One of the worst things for a monk to fight is a giant zerk. The matchup is probably 8-2 to the zerk.

I'll +1 to L-A's post. Anyone else who says it's a matter of sitting in horse stance hasn't fought a Zerk who actually knows what they're doing with regard to weapon choice.

I loved monks in horse stance - it meant dual axes were enough to kill them :-)

PS - Mindflayer: I've had my zerks killed by monks only when I'm really too cocky. I'm not saying a monk can't win, more that the match greatly favours the zerk. A giant zerk even more so due to resistance.
From my experience with Aokami (in horse stance) there was nothing a berserker could do. Just disarm that axe. Giant? No problem chii level two.

What do you do about haymaker? That's really what I find is the great advantage - the ability to rip the monk OUT of the stance and possiblely start in with slams. What's the monk going to do in a defensive stance provided you are flying? Dirt - well, everyone is going to get dirted. Kick maybe?
Pro tip: Take physical axes as a giant so the reverse shots get further reduced by your resistance. The war of attrition just swung in your favour :-)

actually, dirting a berserker is a bad idea.
If you're in horse stance, you shouldn't be able to disarm - because they should be using no-disarm weapons. You can't use chii bolt in defensive stances either, so no chii bolt level 2. Horse stance is also much less effective in reversing certain weapons, and the fact that you can't lag them at all yourself in horse leaves them to drop haymakers.
In offensive, if they're using the right weapons, you need to be disarming them, which leaves dragon as your only real stance option (for disarming cursed weapons and the +1 size for lag protection).
Also, bear in mind that Aokami had a couple of tricks up his sleeve that have since been altered and no longer apply.
