why does it count against you, as in you cant use the machine for a while, when he drops the items?
Brambus is zapped by some really neat stuff and drops it.
You give some really neat stuff to Brambus.
Brambus runs over to the Transpectrogrampher.
Brambus grins with passion as he works the levers, dials and knobs!
Moments later he begins to read off various measurements.
Brambus gives you somereally neat stuff.
Brambus grins evilly.
and then i cant use the machine.. its reaaaally annoying. is there an easy way to change this? or is it on purpose? not saying its a big issue. just seems kind of pointless to have the machine cool down if you don't actually use it.
Because that's how the mprog works, and it would take a decent reworking of the prog to make it otherwise, if it's even possible.
Mprogs are a bitch in the first place, and to alter one that already works very well, minus the minor inconvenience you've brought up, would be a complete pain in the ***. Basically, you have to ask yourself: "Would I rather Malchaeius spend 5-10 minutes fixing and testing a new Brambus mprog, or would I rather have him spend 5-10 minutes reviewing and proofreading an area so that he can transfer it from test port to main port?"
I don't know about you, but I'd prefer the latter.
Also, there are some items Brambus won't id. You gave him one he won't ID that just happened to zap him
I've never experienced an item that Brambus wouldn't ID.
Stop handing him ultra l33t gear.
Stop handing him ultra l33t gear.
dude i suck, i cant even get ultral33t gear
Brambus is neutral... Put some thought into that.
yeah. but how many pieces of gear that a newbie can get, are nuetrals not allowed to touch?
i cant name the pieces here, it just sucks to have to either A) play a communer, i cant stand communers, i tried. or bard, which i can have fun RPing with but i hate levelling with -or-
have a communer/bard friend do it for you. and lets face it, i dont exactly go about making friends too well
as for this issue... ima just try and guess what things do for now and wait til i might one day have something that can identify or a friend to do it for me.

That will tell you it's exact effect on your stats, ac, hr/dr, saves, luck, hp, mana, and moves. Thats 95% of what you need to know right there without having to fsck around with that damn gnome (who I never use and hate). The other 5% you can usually figure out within a few mob fights. Identify is really overrated. Took me about 2 seconds to figure out what those damn rusted medallions everyone was yammering about did when I came back, and I didn't have to cast a single spell to do it.
figuring out the basics isnt hard. its some of he other things that could be useful to know before wearing them.
Also playing a class with scrolls would help.......
Bah. My first trip to winter many a year ago I was picking stuff up right and left to see what it did. I even grabed a really good nodrop/norem item that I couldn't even use (didn't know it was nodrop/norem at the time) to get a better look at it. Boy was my group pissed. Heh. I just shruged and destroyed it and we moved on (they did ask me to stop picking everything up after that though).
Brambus will not ID evil only, light only stuff, since hes a balance walker is old bramby. Such as chasm dragon stuff for example.
Also anti-neut gear too.
I've never yet had brambus turn away an item that wasn't because of alignment issues (with brambus being neut) or obvious things like cabal EQ and the like.
Dey
Basically if Brambus can hold it, he will ID it.
Next time Brambus does that, if I'm on, give it to me to eat. I won't drop it.
Jacobis eats an elemental bracelet.
An odd look consumed Jacobis as his complexion turns pale.
Jacobis suddenly bends over and a million gold coins explodes from his rear!
That'd be worth it.

that would work. elemental bracelets are pretty much the Taco Bell of FL.. but im not gonna be the one picking up those gold pieces..
