a character purging mechanism

With all the people shelving uber qraces, I think something needs done. Cause only one demon can exist for each class, things of that nature. I do not think it is at all fair or acceptable that you can get a demon, play for a few months, then shelf until you want to come back for a few deaths, meanwhile you suck up a qrace spot. So I am suggesting that if a char logs less than 5 hours in 30 days, it should be a purged file. I realize some people are gonna say that is unfair, I can almost guarantee those are the same people who have shelved chars .

I'm not at all against making qraces/classes required to play to keep.

If you implemented this, I guarantee people would not stay here to play FL. Have you never taken a vacation in your entire life? Or had finals? Yeah... We have lives too.

I simply think for qrace/classes you need to be at least active enough not to be rare purged. Pretty simple, you have a unique spot and if not played you are limiting other peoples possible characters here.

At the very least with those special(gifts) races and classes you could always be turned back into your natural race or class if you do NOT make the minimum requirement a la rares.

<--I like this. So long as you give them the same time limit as being rare purged.

you take 2 month vacations :? lucky!

I think it's fine the way it is, however a stagnant youngling purge might be beneficial, Key word might. Was reading the character breakdowns and wondering to myself how many of these characters are actually being played, and how many are just sitting there doing nothing.

Melee, I have a lot of lowbies around level 10 or so. I'll come back to them to find them gone. I think they get purged quick enough. But, the younglings don't hurt the game in anyway by being not active. A sloted race/class does, as it prevents other's from expanding their character and, thus, the game.

I'm for minimum mandatory times for certain posistions. If you don't log in with a cabal for a long time, dont 'you get booted? And 5 hours in 30 days is nothing... I can think anyone, kids/job/whatnot can find five hours to play a month if they found the time to train a character and then app and get approved/watched/then changed.

  • The following sickens me to say -

A-g is absolutely right.

Seriously? How many hours do most of those jackals have before they get the qrace anyway? Tons, thats how many. That right there nullifies any of the, "I'm too busy to play my demon.".... Then why did you make a demon? If you don't have time then why hog the spot, dickless.

I hate this kind of crap and fully agree with the qrace purge system.

*Note: I have never had a qrace and have never applied for a qrace, so this isn't some bias garbage because I want a spot.

He is lying. Everytime he posts he applies for the love of my heart strings, and I always approve... I'm just waiting for him to complete the quest.

5 hours in 30 days? Are kidding me? That is like playing 10 minutes per day....

In my 8 years of playing FL, I have never played any Qrace/Qclass, and hey, I am still here.

In 30 days you can't log 5 hours? Who even studies for finals for 30 days? No one.

I like this suggestion.

I don't disagree, and in fact I thought of several of my own lowbies lying in wait after i posted. I did say "might" right. On a different note I miss the charts on characters and the hours they've logged. Perhaps bringing that back may be a good solution for some of this. That way if their are any doubts the imms can just point to the charts.

Actually in some cases like this talking with your imm really helps, what the prayer forums are for, among other things.

I once cut my hand and fingers really bad and couldn't use it. I spoke with a couple different imms, they allowed me reasonable time to heal. Of course turned out i had plenty of hours logged allready, and it only took a week to heal, well a week for me to give in to the urge tear off my bandages and bear through it

I think the imms still have access to the same information, they just havent been making it public anymore...

The rule should be if you dont have the time to play a qclass/race, you shouldnt have one. Lets be fair kids. Play nice.

yeah but they should, I remember playing so much just to get a little higher on that list, it's like encouragement

You must be my twin. I've been here eight years and I haven't applied for a single qrace. Why? Because I rather kill you with something I rolled straight out the box baby.

Or we can just get rid of the restriction on qraces/qclasses.

That is just crazy talk.
