D&D is like the grandfather of all RPG's systems.
Mud's were a way to bring those games systems only.
So FL, as many others muds have deep root on the D&D system.
Why do you think we have Negative AC in FL ?
Or Necromancers "Power Word Death"
Or our classes system. Where do you think they come from ?
Even our Saves system is very similar.
Somethings are diferent. Where on D&D Wizards gain 1 to 4 HP's per level up plus (CON-10)/2 hp's from CON. On FL mages get around 8-11 HP's.

I agree, and I have a few D&D manuals.
FL isn't D&D. FL is like D&D in many many ways. 
Quoting them as arguments against FL standards is fallacious, but using them as background could be useful, and many things in FL came from D&D.

Totally agree.
FL is a lot like DnD. FL is a lot like real life... people live, pray to different gods/religions, do jobs, try to facilitate society with rules and laws while others try to subvert said rules and laws... man... I think this means my ninja should have a Samurai sword that can cut through a tank, I totally swear I saw an episode of some science show on Discovery about that... like, totally. For realz.
