To be honest, thats utter crap. That would be without sanc and protection (if applicable) and in that case without sanc and hitting a vuln your normal hits can do that damage easily (aka soulblight in the hands of a warrior/blademaster against an ogre. or any fire weapon vs a feral.)

I very recently took MANGLES through sanc and protection on a fire giant. It's not crap. Without sanc especially on a vuln OBLIT is common. As you said, easily fixed with a scroll which is why I don't complain about it all the time. I don't play rangers very often so I haven't seen the otherside to make a viable complaint. With that being said I think that is why people get all fussy about ranger archers. They can also hit your vuln and have other neat affects. I still think tracker is superior but as I said I don't play a lot of rangers.
