desc approval idea

Heralds should be able to approve descriptions.

That is all.

The problem is, what if there is a newbie who needs A LOT of help about description writing? Heralds will have to go OOC to help them... but tbh I would prefer them going OOC rather than losing a potential player because of long waiting period for desc approval.

Precisely.

You could have a room for this. Heralds can teleport newbies to, much like the mirrored desc room for imms. Maybe even the same room. So they can help them, expectedly ooc. Perhaps?

I agree...if a particular herald (and I'm not implying any of the current ones are not very capable writers) just isn't up to snuff as a desc approver...the privledge could be suspended pending a sit down with an IMM to point out where they are getting caught up.

How hard is it to send a Note to the IMMs about the Description ?

If they cant make a description, they can steal it. Or ask another player/Herald to aid them.

This is a false problem.

A usefull change would be, to change the warning message about the need of a Description to include the fact that you can send a note to imms for approval.

It isn't an issue of writing an acceptable desc...it is an issue of which will come first...your qrace approval or your desc approval. I've definately posted in the prayer forum about a needed desc check and still waited a day plus for a check which I had to get by randomly catching a wizinvis IMM on prayer.

Sending a note to IMM IN GAME is your best bet if you can't catch one live. Remember that higher level IMMs have the ability to bring your character on even when you are not online to approve it.

Mmmm... When I first submited my Crusader application as my paladin maybe a hour ago, I was logged on another character and I saw my paladin on the who list, I just assumed it was a IMP doing something, or checking something in regards to my approval... can they log them on and off without having to wait for them to exit the realms?

Yes. We can bring you online and then purge you without waiting out a timer.

Heralds should be able to approve descriptions.

/agree

I agree on the heralds idea..

and if they needed to go OOC to help them the newbie chat was moved up to lvl 15 anyway.

And then you have myself who is terrible with grammer and spelling. And how would a Herald know if a descriptions has been stolen from someone else? and what of gifts given by the Immortals?

As for myself, I don't like to break rp. I don't mind helping out a newbie with descriptions. I've done it before over the Newbie chat. It's not difficult to send a note to the Immortals seeking approval for a descriptions. By giving the Heralds the opportunity to approve descriptions is giving them even more power, makeing them like the immortals themselves. We Heralds arn't the immortals, it is the immortals job to approve the desc ... Like the imms has already said, send a note to them and in a day or two it will be approved. don't be so impatient. The Imms have lives like you and I.

hey I dont have a life!...

Then perhaps you should get one. Go outside, breath the fresh air. The sun will not hurt you.

2 days for a desc check is about 10 times more outrageous than some of the Q-stuff app wait times. It takes maybe...3 minutes tops to check a desc. Technically it is the IMMs responsibility to be some version of timely. The more issues that remain unaddressed...the more people leave. Soon enough...it won't be the Forsaken Lands anymore...just straight up forsaken. If you can't cover the bases...get more players. If you can't field more players...get players who are willing to put forth more effort.

I doubt it will take more then a day... mine never take that long. Even when I write a note to the imms.

I've personally waited 2 days on 2 recent desc checks and I said screw in game note. I went straight to the prayer forum with it...and during the 2 days, multiple posts by multiple IMMs prior to desc check. I don't exactly call that a model of efficiency or customer service (yes I know I'm not technically a customer...but does non-customer service exist?). I'm 4000% convinced we are lacking in the IMMs department...find one of our no-lifers. Yeah I know it is a harsh term...but come on, be honest with yourself. Calling your weed man at 2 in the afternoon after forgoing the 'I just woke up in the PM' shower, isn't technically a life.

And that would describe me. Aside from the weed aspect anyway. But seriously. I rush home from work only to park my a** in front of my computer with sodas on the left and snacks etc on the right, cigarettes always within easy reach. I'm a no-lifer!

Sounds healthy...
