Voting

First off, since you are reading this, have you voted yet, if not, then what the heck are you doing reading this post about voting, go vote!!!!

Alright, now that that is done, I would like to see on update to the profiles at The Mud Connector as well as perhaps some tweaking at the other sites that we have our site listed with. The info at The Mud Connector, is simply not up to date. I am unsure exactly what it entails to update said information, however, if it is as simple as dropping someone an email, or logging into the site and making the change yourself (via being an admin here) then I think we should try and keep this updated regularly. Also, what may be interesting, is to give a brief synopsis as is currently there, and then below that, current events/recent happenings. I remember years ago when I would constantly peruse the listings and to see how often they were updated, some muds would constantly keep it updated. While doing it every week is unnecessary IMO, but at least once a month, or whenever something big is going down. It may help to encourage people to at least check it out.

Ok, so I am seriously debating something. I am a mobile PC tech right now. And for the most part my customer base is a huge sect of IDIOTS. SO I was thinking maybe I could put that auto-voter on as part of my help desk software hehe.

While a part of me does like that idea.... The thought of essentially cheating to obtain more votes, does not appeal to me. It would be one thing if they were to willingly do it, I would still feel a bit cheap by getting all those votes from people that do not even play the game. While yes, it would get us a lot of votes, anyone that actually comes to the game, expecting there to be tons of players, will start to suspect that something is not as it seems. Also, think about it, if you found out another game was cheating to get votes, would you ever go and play that game, even if it was awesome?

Hence why I have not done it.

Thats very honorable of you, you are a good sport, Ceph.

Seriously though?

Life isn't fair.

Nuclear bombs aren't fair.

AIDS isn't fair.

Collin County Court Facility isn't fair.

I say install it on their fwns so that we may have ultimate success. Then we'd change the name to MUDGOD666.

Just keep your mouths shut about it, ya know. What the public doesn't know can't hurt them, right?

We should hold a poll where people vote for a community member. Everybody else then chips in and pays for that member to get theforsakenlands.org tattooed onto their forehead.

If that member refuses, the Immstaff can reveal all of that player's characters, plus any future characters they roll, and have them not protected by any ganging/multikilling rules in place in the game, as well as opening them up be in everybody's PK range, all of the time.

Dey

I cannot remember who, but someone has that odd faced gargoyle from the old forums tattooed on their shoulder. And since it is part of my help desk software, it would TECHNICALLY be me who is initiating the voting, and they would know the software was on their computer as well.

Well that software wouldn't install on my PC, I just vote manually. There would be nice if we had a time counter telling us how much time has passed since the last time we voted.

Life is not about fair, life is simply about balance. Bad things happen, so good things can happen, and vice-a-versa. Yes, you could install it on people's pc's, and chances are the majority would be none the wiser. However, say someone eventually has another problem with their pc, and takes it elsewhere. Then said tech discovers this, tells them, and then you get an angry call asking to explain why.

Little vicious there, L-A, even by your standards.

Not saying I disagree... I freaking HATE people who like to play hacker.

Its meant to be vicious this time - people who working in the (IT) industry shoud know better than this. I suppose because I'm in that industry I arc up about it. Of course, I spend my days protecting systems from these kind of attacks...

I vote Dey goes first.

I support Deys idea.

My vote is for Dey.

(did you think this through? )

Of course I did.

Do you want my paypal address or would you prefer to send the funds through bank transfer?

(suckers)

Dey

I tried to make the first deposit but I can't fit the clown noses in the modem.

Bump... MORE VOTING!!!

Perhaps a sticky somewhere of all the mud sites vote links, one click vote for the lazy people.
