channel history

I think a good addition would be a history for channels, so that the game keeps track of the last 15 or so things that happened on any given channel, that can easily be reviewed. This would help for 2 very important things... if you miss a tell, or cabal chat, or whatever in the midst of screen spam, and therefore lose out on some important info and/or roleplaying oppurtunity, and 2 you could review conversations that you're having to ensure better/more accurate roleplay. You would not have to backscroll to see if you remember what they said more precisely, and flub up your character by responding poorly.

just an idea.

Could see this adding to some serious server lag.

Good idea though, but I dont see how practicle it would be in a long run.

In my Zmud client I actualy have it set up so in a different screen it will log every tell I get. It isn't set up for cabal chat or says, but that could easily be added too. That way its your computer that is storing it, and not the server trying to do all the work.

The idea is splendid though, and you're right, it does help with better RP.

I have an imm on another mud that supports this feature. It keeps back history of all chats/tells/group tells/auctions/god announcements (Thunders)/and the newbie chat and does nothing to to lag the server. I haven't seen the code myself, but its been around for literally years on emlen muds. I would think its pretty simple. but like I said, I just think it would really help in a lot of instances.
