Wouldn't it be cool if we could set how we move? And by that I mean how do other people see you enter the room or leave the room? (assuming you don't sneak of course) Like, if you were a fire giant, maybe you could change it to,

Fire Giant stomps furiously in.

Fire Giant stomps furiously east.

Shy person ambles awkwardly in.

I don't know how hard that would be to code, but it sounds like it could aid rp alot. Of course everything is open to abuse, so we would just continue to be mature about stuff like that and not do something like this:

Mean SOB is about to kick your *** as he storms the f*** in.

That's an awesome idea. Kinda like imms can set their poofs. Someone is going to abuse it or mess up though so it's probably smart to make it so you have to apply for it.

I can still remember that Val Miran royal healer (not sure if it was isabeu or Seiluna) that had the scent of flowers when they left... Had some impact.

Its not really more abuse-prone than the emote/smote/pmote system we have now, though, and we almost never have any problems with that.

I support making entrance/exit messages more interesting. Basically continue where mounted/flying/caltraps leaves off.

If you are on foot, and moving at a certain rate (i.e. you are running), it would show not "Someone walks in" but rather "Someone runs in."

Someone fleeing into the room you are in might look something like, "Someone stumbles recklessly in."

While I support these things, I don't support a player being able to set their own verbage for enter/exit messages. This would be on the same tier as race restrings, title changes, etc, and clearly within, and limited to, the disgression of immortals.

I wish this were the case back when I played my Shambler. He could have had an interesting, and appropriate, entrance/exit message attached to him that would certainly have added more flavor to the restring.

WE could keep it under control. WE = those of us already playing here enough to be consider even partially known. It is the new people we are trying so hard to bring in. It is the angry person about to rage delete after a full loot. Those are the people who are going to abuse this. Whoever said we should just apply for it...I'm with you.

What about those of us with triggers enabled to jump you when you crawl in? C'mon people, think of the power players!!!! (Yes, I'm taking the p!ss....)

Its not a bad idea - though I think it should be applied and given out by the IMMs not set by the player. Alias and the way people ended up (note: not started out) abusing this showed that if there is a way to abuse players will do it. Sad but true.
