To increase the pbase and promote

Why dont we make a myspace for FL, then we could get ourselves promoted out to probably a bigger crowd than on the mud pages, we could even do bulletins announcing quest events or whatnot, we could do the same thing with facebook and all those other social networking sights. Anyhow, just a thought.

We may not find many prospective mudders, but we might get some people to try the game, and even if we only gain one person, wouldnt it be worth it to make it? It doesnt cost anything, and i think it would be great to set up rp events and people if they wanted to could submit their pictures to be put in the muds picture folder. I just remember when i used to play i would go to some pretty random places to plug the mud, and we had a pretty good sized pbase back then, yesterday i signed on at around noon and there were only five people on besides me i think.

Well, such a site, being OOC and not controlled by the IMMs is something that raises red flags in my mind immediately. But I've been told I'm rather anal retentive when it comes to discussing this game sometimes. I call it honor, pride, etc....

I think the real problem with this is that it requires admitting to the outside world that you play.

Lol someone hit me up on facebook when it was created and I joined.

1. I dont use facebook so its hardly liek a forum.

2. I dont thikn anyone actually uses that group.

3. I wouldnt know if they did

Generally speaking, big who cares?

What I mean is, the staff is saying we're mature enough to share who we play on this forum... maybe we'd be mature enough to keep the mysteries of the game alive on other ones? Also, it's not hard to figure out who plays who on alternate forums. The one successful one that I was apart of awhile ago, everyone was pretty much bragging who they were. I found it slightly annoying, not because of bragging and unmoderated e-peen waxing, but things were put out in black and white text explaining things that I didn't want to know.

I like to have a general mystry when it comes down to how some skills work. Call me an idiot, but I don't want to know some things, even if they'd give me an advantage. Not that even with the knowledge I'd be able to kill anyone, anyways....

But I do feel some things should be more open to discussion and be "open sourced" if you will. But, until the imms do so, I'm not going to share my info with everyone. And I won't bitch if I end up doing it and get hammered for doing such. Teh rulz r teh rulz.

I am part of the facebook group, but I'm almost never on the cursed site. I find Myspace and Facebook and any other social networking sites to essentially be the spawn of the infernal one that looms deep within my colon and wreaks havoc on my backside in the form of hemorrhoid. It takes more time to find one person on those sites that uses punctuation and regular typing method than it does to find some girl who will message you to find out if you want to pay her for sex. I sometimes truly wish I had different morals.... and was rich.

Basically what I'm getting at, is I don't believe those sites will draw in any amount of the desirable crowd, instead we'd end up with a buncha freaking picachus and zelda's screaming about chuck norris, and to be honest... since I stopped paying 15 dollars a month, I don't have to visit the barrens anymore.
