Warcry

Why not allow it so that at the 40th rank + someone can change their default warcry, similar to a ninjas alias.

It just makes no sense for non-religious or atheist characters to be calling to their gods. It could be so much cooler to hear a warlord shouting

"Death to enemies of the Nexus!"

or

"Lady luck, I call for your blessing!"

It might get silly, so it would have to be strict on the ones they allow, but wouldn't it be cool?

sounds awesome, adds a new edge for roleplay... It also stops people from knowing your religion just by being in the area.

maybe thats the point

bless+ or bless-, depends how you look at it

But the fact remains that not everyone will call onto their God for power.

How often do Atheists cry out for their "creator" to help them?

Pali, back me up here.

We gotta stick together.

I think it's a great idea, there is no tenable reason, besides coding limitations, not to add it. Even if theoretically revealing the religion is supposed to be the downside, it matters little for the classes that get warcry and the RP pluses out weigh the negatives IMO.

A problem i always run into on my syndicate is trying to coerce and lie for peoples trust, then i warcry for Malchieus.... Nobody is going to trust my character after that, lol...(sure i know nobody is forcing me to warcry, but what idiot is going to run around with low save vs spell.)

Psh. I haven't asked my dad for money in months!

This idea has always been rejected for usually the same reason. Abuse, it's too easy to abuse custom anything, so almost anything like that is not allowed. I have a suggestion this direction though.

Allow the warcrier to choose from a set of warcries.

A. Great god give me strength!

B. For all that is ____ (alignment)!

C. Raaaar!

D. All shall be crushed in my path!

E. (apply for custom here.)

as long as its an application, it leaves little room for abuse.

Custom warcries eh?

I will be giving this one serious consideration.

Back in the day, all warcries used to be non-religious and based off class. Then a bunch of people (Including myself) asked why not cry out for their God?

Lol. Now we're reverting back... But I think this way it encompasses everything. Just as long as it is alias type, aka: You set it and the request enters, it only starts after an Imm approves it.

Serious consideration eh? Sweet.

I'd say make it something you apply for, to prevent abuse. NOT a wait-three-months-then-get-no-thing! More like a desc check. If it's ok, it's ok, and that's it. Let the current ones be basics, for those who don't apply for one of their own.

Ultra cool idea, btw.

Make it an IMM-dictated RP reward.

even better.

Disagree. We have such already, like tattoos. It will do a bigger differance if everyone can have it. I mean, how fun is it that all followers of Malchaieus yell the same thing. EXACTLY the same thing. Let it free to the public instead.

I don't see how abuse would be a problem. You can already yell anything you want.

Bingo - was wondering if someone was going to point that out

True... Whatever, it still needs to be imm approved for typos etc.

Imm awarded? Have you SEEN the awards Imms give? Talk to the Gnome woman Shaman (forgot name, sorry) or Atsul(a).

We'd see Warmaster Leaders warcrying "I'm a scared little girl!"

I VERY much doubt that. Cabal leaders are almost always good RPers as well as good PKers.

Atsul(a) didn't get her name for bad RP. Anume is just mean sometimes.

-He made a sexist comment to her and she decided to teach him a lesson.

Thats good RP as far as I am concerned.
