As a new player, it would be awfully nice for a spell or mob to be able to tell me which area mob is in.
I do have ID and locate, but knowing the name of the mob does little. I could ask other players, but that becomes redundant.

They had a similar spell in another mud I played: 'locate life'
It could give room name and area (or just area). Would be a nifty little cantrip.
Having a mob in each city already with very little purpose. Might we consider adding a function to the city registry.
Service locate (sweety)
The city official says Sweety was last known to be in the vicinity of Blissful Falls Asylum.
I would really appreciate any of the above. It inspires immersion and communication rather than pestering.
Where is A Goblin Chieftan vs Do you think we could travel to the Dark Obervatory?
I'm all for this kind of change. There isn't a reason that a hunt master wouldn't tell you where X is for a little gold.
I was thinking more of a :
cast “puppetmaster”
A puppetmaster tells you, “I reside in Discord, if you seek me.”
Any is good, though.
cast 'locate life' guard
`A Val Miran guard resides in Val Miran.
A Val Miran guard resides in Val Miran.
A Val Miran guard resides in Val Miran.
A Val Miran guard resides in Val Miran.
A draconic guardian resides in the Tower of Dragons.
A storm giant guard resides in the Crystalmir Caverns.
An lumbering undead giant resides in Miruvhor.`
Any ability or spell that locates only one mob will not work well in some circumstances.
You’re right. 😃
It's always been a puzzle and a mystery for me and the closest we ever got was utilizing the Adventurer perk for a class with Lore and then buying the locate object spell. Which has its own small downsides if the item is kept in the inventory of a mob.
This would be an excellent addition as a purchase for RP points, perhaps?
