Requesting

Perhaps the lightning that strikes the item should strike the player that grabbed it as well... doing anywhere from scratches to OBLITERATES. That way people would be less prone to running by and grabbing the item. If you wanted to make it really accurate you could make the damage depend on how resistive the item is. For example: Metal items conduct more, where as Wooden/Cloth items would be more resistive.

Just an idea.

No.

Why?

Jester is here requesting some lame item.

look jester

Jester has some big and nasty wounds.

cackle

cast really big damage spell @ jester and watch Jester get hit twice.

You misunderstood.

no i meant

Jester is here requesting some lame item.

look jester

Jester has some big and nasty wounds.

cackle

Drow clown picks up item Jester is requesting.

Drow takes damage, and thinks twice.

OOOOOR

Drow hits jester with big damage, and takes big damage from lighting as well.

Giving me some sort of chance of survival in my weakened state.

Why would anyone but a MOB pick those up? Just about everyone who plays here knows that you can't take an item while it's being requested, it's just a good way to catch someone with their pants down, in which case lightning strikes the item blowing it up and shouldn't ever strike the person attacking. Besides the lightning is supposed to come from your God, why would they interfere in the natural balance of life and death? If anything the only way it would strike the person is if your God had a ****ty aim and being they're a God, I don't see how they could be because of the fact that they're a God and should be able to strike anything at any distance without any inaccuracy.

As for if and when they'd pick it up, say it's the MOB you're requesting from and your God strikes them with lightning. That would most likely make the item itself be struck with lightning with its full power and then explode. I'm sure you'd be pretty pissed if it was the last rare item of its kind the MOB had and because of the MOB picking it up it would be exploded just because you wanted a few Evils to be zapped by the lightning, and by few meaning 1-2 every 8 months or so.

meh, just an idea. Thanks for the input.
