Pretty crappy skill for most classes consitering all classes get it, I don't even practice it unless i'm a monk. What would make it better would be able to start combat with it, being counterable from classes that can ofcourse.
Kick
Maybe, but that would help monks a lot more. If I could open combat with kick, I still wouldn't practice/use it unless I was a monk. The classes that have kick (monk being the exception) all have something else that in my opinion, can be used instead of kick. Unless you want to count clerics with no mana left.

Hrm..
I would, if it couldn't be countered. That way, you could initiate combat against blademasters without being damaged each time.
Dont understated the kick skill. How many times i wished i had that skill on my paladin when fighting a Invocker. Sure it lags you 2 rounds and the damage is not that great, but when you cannot do anything kick is something.
And cleric, who does not remenber the famouse fight betwin 2 clerics that was won by a kicking contest.

Just about every class can start combat with something better, like a spell, or a lagging attack, or a blackjack/strangle, or murder. The thing about kick is, for some classes, it's less of a monk-style lightning fast kick and more of an attack of opportunity used by an armored thug. It would be pretty difficult to start combat with a running kick unless you were an unencumbered monk.
Then again, if kick has some unblockable 0 tick maledictive, like con-3, it could be somewhat useful as an opener. It'd at least have an edge over all the opener methods.

Good point, actually. Didn't think of that.

Which is why I mentioned it can be of use to clerics sometimes. Although in my view, if you're a cleric fighting with no mana (and thus having to use kick) you must be crazy (unless the person you're fighting is badly injured/crappy EQ/rubbish). ![]()

It just doesent make sence not being able to lead with a kick, guy your hunting is just standing there, no idea that your going to attack, then BAM you kick him, makes more since then standing there aiming a critical strike then a forward thrust kick.
it is nearly useless. but i take to use when ranking.

Looks like someone doesn't watch WWE. Oh god I love Kane and his big boot. ![]()
Non ray/path clerics can get use out of it, generally when you're in a pk battle and they decide to chill at a large mob so you can't use earthquake.
Kick, when mastered, can do dismembers through sanctuary, and mangles/massacres without it. It's worth it, sometimes. On Jisil, I had it up to 98% (considering I lost everything else..) and I killed mobs, and sometimes sent people running because they got owned by kick.
Kick FTW.
Hrmm. I like kick
lmao we're gonna make the Acerbity: One Line Wonders, Greatest Hits Vol I
including such classic pieces such as "I sent people running because they got owned by kick." haha <3
would you be offended if I compiled some of your best and made such a thing? If not, I'd like to hehe.
Ninjas have double kick, it can be useful

You know what else ninjas have?
Assassinate.
If you use kick as a ninja, you're a fricking moron.

I would be offended. You're basically implying I'm a liar, or overexaggerate.
You do.
And that, along with your fist-in-mouth disease, are what make you so
If that's the fight I'm thinking you're thinking about, that was the famous fight between a cleric and a shaman. And yeah, it was pretty crazy how Castegian nailed him with that kick at the end. Did like a Mutilate or something against Gwardof. I used kick quite a bit with my clerics; mainly against other clerics/shamans though. But I think we've already established that it's a normal thing to use with clerics, so.
I can understand people not wanting to train it, because in most PK situations, you won't really have time. But in those long, drawn out battles when mana will be on short supply(possibly), kicks a good friend to bring along. Of course, with Minister now, I would imagine kicking would be in small demand. ![]()
You could make kick damage change depending on character size. A storm cleric's kick will hurt more than a human cleric's kick. ![]()
This thread put a smile on my face. Thank you.
