for those who dont even bother to practice it.

Its fine. But it would be also a lot better if it said if the person is good, neutral or evil aligned.

Sometimes you can tell from the religion but other you cannot.

Something like :

XYZ is a EVIL believer of the way of Combat and powers of Knowledge.

Desinteresed...

Also it would be fun if one could buy more scrolls.

For some of those you listed: Search.

Um. If you can cast "know alignment" on them, you can "consider" them. This command tells you their alignment.

Know alignment can be cast from anywhere.

Hrm. Narrow it down with "who group"? Neutrals're out of luck, but what do they care about alignment?

Know alignment tells you the religion they follow.

Not if they are good/neut/evil.

Yeah, there are other ways to do it...but it -does- make sense that it should do what its called.

I think it would be a neat little addition that would only take a few minutes to code in.

It used to do that, but players made an almost unanimous call for it to be changed to religion when the religion system was implemented because they figured know alignment was fairly useless.

Now it's even more useless. Combined align and relig info, it would be quite nice.

It would be great of Know Alignment also told you what God they are worshipping. As in:

Bob is a loyal believer of Combat, follower of Athara(or whomever is the Combat deity at the moment).

It would also be sweet of it told you both align and ethos of the target.

I think it'd make sense for it to tell align and religion, at least. Is deity really necessary, though? I mean, we only have 1 deity for every major religion subset, so it should be intuitive.

I couldn't give you a single situation where 'know alignment' is useful even in RP ...
