Role/bio

An idea that I picked up...

As you all know, there is description. Why not add a role or an expanded bio where characters can write their history. That way, it will be easier for immortals or mortals (depending on if you want mortals to be able to look at it) to decipher someone's roleplay and act accordingly.

For those who want to apply, they won't have to wrote a long application stating their history. Rather, they can write something that is actually relevant

Or have the herald library sell journals and pens that imms could look at.

Not to mention that way when they do apply for something, most likely the immortals will know what the heck they're talking about, rather than just making something up off the top of their heads. It would show from past roleplaying.

I think this idea got shot down on another thread.

On another subject Perhaps players could be given

the choice to show their religion to others of the

same religion? If it was on then it may help for rp

to develop among those who might not know they

have so much in common...

Ah, I found a thread about desc2. Make it so only imms could look at it so that they can rp more with the morts. I don't know if it's there anymore, but in the rheydin library, there were a bunch of history scribed by heralds. Why is it that only a select few needs to have their history written down? In my endeavours into other muds, I constantly found it a better motivation if I knew the history of my characters and their goals

Your RP should show through interaction with others.

The reason I don't like this idea, same reason I don't like desc2 as mentioned earlier, is that I don't think I should learn all about you from a MUD command (yes, I think bio tells too much but hey, it's old news).

Basically, I think it discourages RP.

Well, I can see that it might discourage rp. But chances are that the people who uses this command are those who want to increase their rp. Just a thought.

How about the other idea, where people can pray to the imms from a shrine for more imm interaction? I don't know how it is now, but in the past, it seemed to me that only people who rped exceptionally had imm interaction. Those average to subpar roleplayers, whether because they aren't good or because they don't care, didn't have much of a chance. I just think that personal imm interaction should be extended to everyone instead of a select few. Of course, it is completely up the imms, moreso than other ideas or suggestions, because this would take up their times.

I think if it were something that makes sense IC it would work, like a journal...or diary.

BTW, Mister E:. try who religion

lol, i feel dumb.

That reminds me of a point when Kalug decided to actively seek out and interact with people whose religion was nature. That certainly made a half elf monk of mine a lot more interesting.

who religion

walk up and say "Hey, you're into Chayesh too!"

Oh geez...I see this as the new FL equivalent to asking "What's your sign?"
