Change it to where when you get a new mount you end up dismounting from your current mount. It'd allow for a little more realism along with the abuse of Paladins calling Goliath and then just buying a mount that lasts 120 ticks longer since they keep the mounted combat bonus for being on Goliath. That's assuming if the bonus still only applies to being mounted to Goliath, otherwise it'd be fine.
Mounts.
Hrm..
Mounted combat works fine even if you're riding a donkey from what I understand.

Does that actually work? If it does, it's clear abuse, and the people doing that will be spoken to.
It worked back when I had my Paladin over a year ago, and to my knowledge it was never fixed. It was just one of those things that seemed to be pushed on the back burner of the 'to do' list. But yeah, it works so far that I know of. Saw a Paladin go off and do it after they had about 3 hours left on mount, and they came back in with 144 ticks left and still was mounted on Goliath.
It still works, I've seen it.
I have done that exact thing, however not intentially - I believed that the mounted combat bonus applied to any and all mounts. Someone clear this up for us please? ![]()

EDIT: If the bonus does only apply to Goliath, the helpfiles could be a little clearer on it.
MOUNTED COMBAT
Syntax: automatic
While the use various horses and beasts for travel is common in the
lands of Aabahran, the skills to actual carry meaningful combat while
mounted upon a steed are all but unknown. Yet those whom mastery this
fine art can enter combat upon their steeds and thus benefit from their
stability as well as strike terrible blows at their victims while charging
with a pole weapon.

GOLIATH
Syntax commune Goliath
The legend speaks of this mighty war-horse as a loyal companion to the great
Knight Delvyn before his eventual corruption and fall from grace. To this
day, those whom are pure of heart and full of valor may call upon this
mighty steed to carry them upon its back. Unlike mortal mounts Goliath will
always stay near its master and never be separated.

with my paladins the bonus works for any mount irregardless. I only called goliath when I was out in the world and my mount ran away. Goliath was nice when plague made your mount run in terror, now I think it's moot because the mounts stay with you.
Mounted combat does not strictly apply to goliaths but to any beast the paladin can mount on. I use many beast to mount on not just goliath and it works the same.
Goliath also helps in other ways, such as not being lagged as bad compared to being on regular horses I believe I heard mentioned by someone with more know how on them than myself. Not to mention that they can go around MUCH further compared to a normal mount, which I've heard been told that Paladins with heroism, Goliath and Mounted Combat that they could practically flee, and run clear across Aabahran and back without running out of moves. Now that might be going a little far (at least I hope so), but either way it's an abuse that shouldn't happen.
That is true for any mount, ask zrothum when he had to chase Illyssia from the savant cabal to knight cabal and I never used the shortcut through the underdark. You don't run out of moves period, but I don't know if that has to do all with heroism or a combination of the three.
Mounted combat works with any mounts.
