The PK Shakes

How did YOU overcome them?

Oh, this should be in Newbie... I'm sorry.

PK more and more. Eventually you SHOULD overcome the adrenaline but some never do I think.

P.s. I moved your post to newbie help.

Yeah there isn't really any other solution other than Pking more.

Although I did find having a decent back up set in a locker at all times helped with mine, as I was less worried about full loots.

Honestly it's the thing I miss most of all, lol.

Just more ok, and when you realize that eq means less than you think in most situations and it's just proper pk awareness, form, and not over extending you settle in.

Go ahead.  Say.  My.  Name.  ;)

Man that's such a good feeling lol

It never really goes away.  That's the drug we are all here for!  You gotta learn to cope with the adrenaline rush.  If you're shaking run off until you get your shit together so you don't make mistakes and reengage.  More pk interaction will help but like I said that's half the fun!

Thank you all. Some good ideas, here.

I felt it just the other day because the stakes were so high. I had to change my mindset to get the blood pumping normally again.

Honestly that's my favorite part of pvp. That rush no other game comes close to providing. Shaking trying to hit your macros. Spelling where wrong. God just one more hit that's all I need man

That took me a moment to realize what you did there.

It is absurd. I need to have a walk after each confrontation. My son (4) calls this now the scary game. 😝

It will get better. It's all in the mind. That said, being surprised cam shake even the most veteran player into panic.

Ryl what's your mud background?  History here etc?  You seem somewhat fluent.  You got some vets here that have been playing for like 15+ years.  Even that long and I'm still learning new stuff as far as game mechanics  and how things actually work practical vs on paper.  That's part of what I love about this game the learning curb always leaves something else to go aha!  If you have questions don't be afraid to ask and if need be we can pull you up and help talk things out ooc or on prayer.  The old mentality of vets converting secrets is now transparency.  We won't tell you everything and ruin the fun but we'll guide you to a higher level thinking.

I have played at muds for a long time, off and on. I took a break from my favourite one, and when I came back to it, I saw the people there have become angry, entitled, and unpleasant. Anyways, I had always wanted to try RP enforced, and am enjoying it. Because I had always meant to try this place out since there was a split with my mud of choice years ago, here I am. My break was many years, and even before my break, I was in a position for a few years that frowned on PKing players, so I just played support when I wasn't busy. I WAS good with PK, but I was a younger man, then.

Aside: I'll reiterate that I don't think you all are aware of what you have here. Pay 2 Win, staff that exploit being common knowledge and a coveted position (I was there-not making this up), vulgarity and abuse during and after fights, and other nasty stuff seem not to have crept in here. I am taken aback with many interactions, not just with me, by the absolute and IC kindness I am seeing. This place feels like a group of old friends playing D&D together. There also seems to be a lot of effort to keep newer players, and it is refreshing, as this place does have an extreme learning curve, comparatively.

Mainly, my struggles are just being afraid to PK again. I've my PK character now, and my brain just screams, "NOT YET," when I think of logging in. When I do fight, it screams, "GET OUT OF THERE!" I think I'm broken. 😀

Hahaha I would suggest playing something taht you don't mind dying with. Learn a lot just by dying repeatedly.

Also it doesn't matter how long you've played, there is always more to learn. I've been here 15+ years and there is so much still to learn.

We also try and keep the community as positive as possible. :) hope you feel welcome here Ryl, you certainly are - plus I want to roll a DK in the future so I need to you stick around :D joking!
