These details should show when you select at creation and then give you a chance to back out or confirm.
Perks info
I would even go a step further and say that by skipping detailed creation that you should still be able to pick a perk. It may only affect a small percentage of people who play, but I've seen people plenty of times in the past asking tons of questions who were obviously new who had skipped the detailed creation and lost out on the perks. Granted I haven't seen anyone new in a while, but it would possibly make strides going forward to becoming more newbie friendly.
I always found it odd that you are allowed to skip detailed creation at all in an RP enforced mud.
Plus perks are really good so the skip option just nerfs noobs.
I would ditch all the rather redundant and imo pointless " pick yer eye color" stuff. Just take it out. We use descriptions. We dont need a second, limited, selection for hair color for example.
Just make it about perks, and non skippable. Thouhh leave a none option in for the weirdos 😉
By choosing none you'll randomly get one of the other perks each login/shift that can't be seen by anyone, not even the player themselves. One moment you have luck on your side, shift hits the fan then you get to enjoy having a small chance at escaping a bash because you're more nimble. Although interesting, I doubt it would happen but I got a good chuckle thinking about it.

I always thought the opposite..get rid of the verbose hand-written description and just select options from the list. Descriptions tell some basic info: skin/hair/eye color, for instance. I think we can handle the basic info with simple selections (black, blue, whatever) as we have in detailed character creation. Descriptions also tell what you are wearing. Worn stuff is already covered by your equipment list. So what purpose do descriptions have?
What else does your description include that makes it necessary for everyone to longhand what boils down to very general information that is already covered by your bio?
One of my current descriptions does not fit any such mold.
And i must say more often than not they go way beyond just basic features.
I know myself and a few others actually change theirs as they get qclass/race. Gain cabal, or have some life altering rp experience with their character.

Such as what? I think just about any physical description in your description can be made selectable pretty easily. Should be able to modify it too, after creation, just like descriptions.
