Where is the hot spot for this nowadays?
Training Disarm/shield disarm
Ok, I remembered weapons.
human martial-artist in the Hamlet. Use a lightning weapon.
How about shields though?
Same place on the guy in the water. Water immune

ahh cool thanks!
human martial artist is not my route. too slow.
I found an avenue that works faster for me.
Do not learn AXE, DAGGER, or POLEARM.
Master parry and twohanded at 15.
purchase a pick axe.
disarm orcs.
By the time 5 orcs die, I am mastered at disarm, without waiting for higher ranks.
From start to finish, is your way faster than a drunk L50 with lightning weapons (arc whips give -2 int each) and the master's handwraps?
I'd be interested in seeing a side-by-side.
I mastered disarm on 15 - 20 minutes just spamming it against the martial artist.
I dont believe faster is neccesary...though i am hardcore.
Not sure -int makes you learn faster... I'd use lightning spears over the arc whips.
- Disarm is useless at 50, waiting for 50 to learn it would result in a syntax error in my brain.
- Actual Real Life train time for dodge is 10-15 minutes. 10 for HC 3-4 orcs, 15 for Regular 5-6 orcs.
- Why would you lower your intelligence? Good for training spells and songs as concentration fails you. You never lose concentration trying to disarm.
- Masters hand wraps make me laugh, by the time I can kill the fellow wearing them, I am mastered at everything.
Let me break it down in simple terms.
Hard Core will improve every attempt under 50-55, every other attempt under 70-75, every third attempt under 90-95, every fifth attempt under 100. the ranges reflect intelligence of the race you are playing. Now in the case of High intelligence races, those that start 1 prac learned. And this is important, the scale slides, meaning 1 attempt improves through 75, 2 attempts improve through 90, ect.
I am not claiming this is coded people, I am telling you these are what the hash marks show over 50+ highly trained characters of almost every race and class combo.
Yes, the spears would be better over whips. Couldn't think of any of those offhand though, outside the lightning bolt.
I believe for the -int, there's a bit of a give/take. While -INT makes you learn slower, you failing makes you learn quicker. I'm honestly not sure how much one affects the other. Testing/splunking I will go.
peas in a pod @Magick.
You made me curious, maybe I will burn a few testing hours this weekend and see if drunk and stupid improves the time at all.
Or maybe I will stay focused on the latest character as his RP, while not advertised through notes and journals, keeps making the people of Aabahran laugh.
And to think, I went to Mangora to train this crap... lol ;)
Ahahah epic.
Having a high intelligence and wisdom helps you learn your skills faster as well as gain more mana per level. If you roll up a character and just go to the first training room and type 'say wis' or 'say int' it'll give you a brief readout of what they contribute to. Going hardcore makes it go up even faster. Considering the ease of getting +con, +str, and +dex items, it might be beneficial to max out your INT and WIS. You can use trains to max them out if you need to, RP points, or even CPs if you're in a Cabal. The +wis and +int items usually don't increase it significantly at low levels like the others, but after tinkering with races with low con and str and doing that with them, I found that the differences in getting to 50 are pretty much similar. So if you want to hit 50 with the best of everything, that may be the route to go. If you wish to do more experiments though, feel free. I myself didn't find disarm to be easily trained as that damned thing disarms me every few of my disarms, and I was level 15 or so the last time I did it.
Spamming it will NOT make you learn faster.
Try timing it right. See what happens. :clapping:
