Counter while blind

Have BLM's always been able to counter while blind? Recently fought one, kicked dirt, fled, the BLM meditated and when I came into murder, I was countered. I'm not sure if that's vigilance or counter or both.

If he is predicting the skill in question, then yes, he will counter no matter what, but since you are opening with murder that doesn't really matter.

Vigil allows you to counter while asleep/meditating, I am not certain where being blind comes in here...
