More newbie questions.

Of course by now I've already looked into other classes...

And so here are some more questions:

  • Detect good/evil: seems useless. Am I mistaken? Just covers the said type in an aura so I don't attack wrong person? For evil's, this is particularly useless it seems.

  • Damage spells: Dispel good vs Harm vs Magic Missile vs Etc.

Isn't it a waste to learn them all? You get to cast a spell per round or per two rounds... why would you bother casting a weaker one? Just learn the most damaging one, no? Considering Harm is higher lvl (it should be more powerful?)

  • Kick: LOW damage. Why kick for two round lag when i can one round spell damage with a better damage spell? Or do something useful like disarm. Any thoughts?

  • Why do dark knights not have blind fighting and staves?

Thanks again.

  1. Yes, detect good/evil is useless.

  2. Dispel good, Harm and magic missile each have their own uses. I won't tell you what they are, because there is no fun in that, but have in mind that magic missile is one of your most important spells.

  3. Dark knights don't have blind fighting a) because they are a hybrid vlass and for balance reasons. They might not have staves, but they have wands. A fair trade.

Thanks. I will look more into it.

Only reason I say that is because I easily find staves but almost no wands. Gotta get to exploring.

Check out the tainted ankh. Great wand for dk's.

And please don't make me malform fodder.

Detect good/evil is NOT useless. It's is a great way to quickly chase someone when scanning through a mob thick environment (like Elium) as it adds a colored marker to the person you are looking for, providing they are of evil or good alignment of course. This has been extremely helpful to me in chasing some of you little ****s in the past.

Example: (red aura)f0xx is standing here

Damnit, Mindflayer, give all our tricks away why don't you...

Don't worry guys. I hear it will take 3+ years before I kill anyone.

At least that seems to be the average it takes for most players to get a good handle on things.

Took three months to learn most of the lands for me. I think my first PK was my first week here or something like that because a guy helped me PK someone who kept killing me over and over again. As for Detect Good/Evil, I never thought of using it that way, but now that you mention it, I believe I will have to start practicing it now.

That's not true. You should fight Valek

It is terrible for chasing in Elium. since almost everything has (red aura) . Silly little mindflayer, eventually you wont be a newb.

Yeah, didn't wanna crash his leet parade myself, I like the git too much

Like f0xx said, magic missile is very important for this class. It helps land spells easier (such as plague, poison, etc).

Harm is just as useful as dispel good is, except that Harm does a steady amount of damage which depends on that health of your opponent. If you're chasing down an opponent whose pretty hurt/awfully hurt, harm will do mere decimates/injures.

Dispel good is useful in this case, since it doesn't care how healthy your opponent is.

I remember kick being the deciding factor in some cleric vs cleric fights in the past. Have things changed that much?

Jibber ruining all the fun... at least he didn't reveal everything.

I have heard that it's Mya's favorite skill.

What is Mya, a cleric?

Who is Mya' date=' a cleric?[/quote']

She's a saint, she's an angel, she's our great amusement. And she knows more than both of us together.
