Shield Expertise

So does this skill make up for the fact that you are missing a second weapon with up to four attacks and a gun?

If you have a vuln to certain fired weapons or you are at risk of getting lag-locked by a heavier melee, it is useful. So, it depends.

A shield warrior is a specialist warrior that is effective against other heavy warrior types.

So does this skill make up for the fact that you are missing a second weapon with up to four attacks and a gun?

Yes, because you will be attacking with your shield as well, another attack to replace fired weapons. It also has unique abilities depending on what part of the body you hit.

With my dwarf shield lore, Hazkrul, it was awesome. I was never put down by a melee. Granted, the melees that were bossing it I didn't fight due to cabal reasons. IE: Grylok.

Shield expertise is awesome.

For the record, with shield expertise/mastery, I could have owned Thulgan with my h-elf warrior. I just didn't want to embarrass him.

Sorry to NECRO this, but, is there is a reason to go shield mastery & shield expertise? I know the difference with weapons, but what so for a shield?

EDIT: Shield Block? Derp Me!

EDIT2: No Still lose on it really.

mastery allows
 ANY shield expertise, shield bash
 dagger, sword feign, doublesheath
 spear backcutter
 staff backcutter, powergrip
 flail mantis maul
 mace focused bash
 exotic weapon seize
 whip weapon lock
 axe, polearm powergrip

So it says ANY mastery I can get shield expertise or shield bash.. but If I pick up shield expertise as a "weapon expertise" I get shield bash. Am I missing something here? Not seeing what lore I get for Shield Mastery?

If you go expertise, you get an extra skill called shield bash at level 30.

I don't think you can go mastery with shield without the expertise in it though. I could be wrong (never tried it). Being that the mastery has everything to do with shield bash, it might be that if you go mastery (and decided to go expertise on two other weapons) that you also gain the skill at level 30 if you didn't have it before.

So what yer saying is.... you don't know either. =p

at least I'm not the only one who doesn't

Well, my explanation would HAVE to be correct. If it isn't, then it needs to be changed.

edit: After rereading I think my input was irrelevant.

What else is new

he admitted it.

Thats new.

Ha-ha-ha

Good one Twin

Going full shield warrior is alot of fun, ever since I ran one i've ran several. I really enjoy it shield lore is really great if your going against melee types. I even found some uses against casters but not quite as effective. I still enjoyed my WM shield warriors very much. Give it a whirl and try it out. its quite enjoyable.

Yeah, you get more bonuses if you go both.

You can choose either alone though, there isn't a prerequisite...obviously, the more advanced one is better than the basic, but they still have uses.

For example, if all you want to do is block arrows, you don't need both. Either one will do...

You reminding me of this is now the only and biggest reason I have for not bothering with Haloween madness.

You can't get Shield Mastery. It was not an option.
