200 damage

200 damage

do you happen to know all of them?

There's a list a few posts down in that thread.

Aye, here is the table originally posted by Jibber:

scratch ~ 3
graze ~ 7
hit ~ 11
injure ~ 15
wound ~ 19
maul ~ 23
decimate ~ 27
devastate ~ 31
maim ~ 35
MUTILATE ~ 40
LACERATE ~ 48
DISMEMBER ~ 59
MASSACRE ~ 73
MANGLE ~ 95
DEMOLISH ~ 116
OBLITERATE ~ 156
DISINTEGRATE ~ 213
ANNIHILATE ~ 288
ERADICATE ~ 363
UNSPEAKABLE ~ 400+

I find it quite accurate.

scratch 1-4
graze 5-8
hit 9-12

Creating a whole list of like that is possible, if you log your stuff nonstop (unless you have more sophisticated method). I've created accurate list up to MUTILATE.

Comparing to my list, Jibber's is very accurate.

The damage verb should be relative to the percentage of health taken from the target, not some static value...

I don't agree at all.

Dunno if that's actually a joke there or you are being serious...

It'd be an interesting way to do it, no doubt.

If it were a percentage it would be slightly too easy to calculate everything. There is a certain amount(A LOT) of randomness in this game that was intended to be there. Heck, there is even a LUCK stat. I'm with you though, I like no luck sheer calculation victory! Anyone who has had a pk knows how important REAL luck is in this game. You can try to pk some one once and get owned then try again and win the rolls and dominate them. That's why patience is so key and probably why I can't play anymore haha.

No need to be modest, Godslayer

actually hp would be completely worthless if everything is % based 100 hp is just as good as 1000 hp.

actually hp would be completely worthless if everything is % based 100 hp is just as good as 1000 hp.

You misunderstand. What they mean is that the noun would change simply based on the % of damage each hit did compared to the total HP of the current target. So like .1% scratch, .5% graze, etc etc etc. Not that your damage would increase or decrease based on the total HP of the target.

If that's not clear enough, they are not talking about changing skills themselves to do % based damage, simply that the nouns would reflect instead of static amounts of damage but at what % of their total life it just took off.

No, all that would change is the damage WORD you're given, not the amount of damage you're doing. The idea behind such a change is to stop the silliness of the game telling you that you've dismembered someone dozens of times in a fight. The downside would be that a player really wouldn't know how much damage they swing for - all you'd know is that you can cut out X percentage of HP from this guy and Y percentage of HP from another in each hit. More realistic, certainly, but trickier to play with.

I think they're talking about that the damage verb should be % related to the health taken from the target.

Would be hilarious to see UNSPEAKABLEs in mud school without deaths.

[Edit] Amusing...

ok i thought you had lost your mind, turns out i just misunderstood. you want to change the verb not the ability, makes sense.

Thinking about it, though, it would be funny to see a group of badass 50s scratching and grazing a big mob to death since each hit is only a small amount of the mob's HP...

this would confuse the hell out of me.

Well, relative to current HP, not total HP.

Ah, so it'd seem you were doing more and more damage as the fight wears on... An interesting idea, though it'd make figuring out a lot of things much tougher.
