There is no longer any way to restore lives except by immortal intervention. Even Healers can no longer provide such benefits because it was deemed to cause "un-condeath-able" (a new word

This is simply wrong.**
Healers will give you both the life and the con back if it was a mobdeath (plus a lot of exp, so the resurrected player usually levels from the resurrection).
The resurrection will restore only con and not the life if it was a pdeath.
So a resurrection will not be wasted no matter what.
