Are there many players that use this class?
Psionics
on everyones to do list.
Requirements are for me some of the most dificult.
Will likely have a Vampire before I get a Psion.
Seriously, though, this song was supposed to be from Magica 2 album, never released due to Dio dying from stomach cancer May of this year.
If you ever think about trying for a psion, I greatly recommend using Magica as the album to listen to. I used it to shape my Tiefling Invoker, the visitor from Sigil. Shame I had to give up my internet for the greater good at that time in my life. I wonder if I would have ever made it....![]()
Psi is a remort class.
This means you have to rank to 50 excel in RP and PK for quite a time. Then you are given a chance to attempt the trials. If you fail the trials you do not get psi, if you succeed you go back to level one and rank to 50 as the new guild.
Some folks consider this more difficult than the lvl 30 qrace/qclasses since there is a longer wait period typically. The reward though is worth it imo. Should you fail the trials you still have your lvl 50 to play, though a lot of folks just quit playing at that point.
To answer your question directly, not as many people obtain psi or lich for that matter as obtain the other qclass/qraces. Also keep in mind that playing a q-anything is not neccesarily easier than the standard race/classes. In many ways it is more difficult, and several of the quest races especially come with permanent vendettas against certain groups that are equipped to utterly end you.

To be honest Liadon, I would reccomend playing a few 50's to condeath before attempting any of the qrace/qclass. Just because the q's are all handicapped in some way or another that requires indepth game knowledge to overcome.
Even Psi requires some forsight in the preperation department, the spell memory system is intentionally laborous and adds a level of difficulty to the class that doesnt exist with any of the other cc's.
I am not saying you cant try, or shouldnt, just that I would reccomend flushing out the standard game in your head more so that your first experience as a qclass/qrace is rewarding...and not frustrating.
I know a whole slew of players that gained a qrace/qclass then promptly deleted from frustration, me included with my first undead.
Signed +1 for me getting frustrated with my first 2 qraces and giving them an early death.
Dey
poor undead zerk.
Bwahaha he wasn't amongst my first 2. I forgot about him. ![]()

I was just using it as a reference. You got undead (and didnt fudge the quest) and came across a crippling side effect.
I know, I meant change the "first 2" into "first 3". ![]()
Yeah, there was a very frustrating side effect that as a less experienced player I had no idea how to counter. A perfect example.

Do an Illithiad PSI.
Then find out you can only be one Psi Path... ![]()
Which reminds me.
Apart from Squid Path that we see sometimes.
And the Vibbletick path most Psi's take.
Does anyone has played the other path?
It appears to cool.
Drakken did.
Drakken did in fact go the "invokomancer" route I I have dubbed it. And it is too cool.
All psis have very strong points, but Kyz is right, the system used for psi combat takes some adapting to, and its not for the weak willed.
I am fairly weak willed, and I did fine with a psi of Vibble's path. ![]()
I was a fool to delete Zoix. Psionicists are incredibly fun and tricky to play.
Play what you want. The time it takes you to get competitive at PK is based on much more than what you roll. Play underdogs, play a q-something, play a power combo, anything that tickles your fancy. In my experience FL rewards thorough explorers when it comes to area, consumable, equipment, and special room knowledge. Pk teaches itself along with community support over time until you reach your best (most are constantly improving here).
Just remember that it takes a long time to get a q-something, so if you do, cherish it. Don't throw it away like the ones who later regret it.
It's a challenge, I'm not afraid to face up and have to QUIKLY learn to kick ***.
I'm shooting for a Psi now.
Who knows... I may learn something a surprise a few people on the way.
smiles
I'm not afraid to try anything at least once.
Just remember to be patient and understanding if you don't get it on your first try (or alternatively, if you do get it but have a very frustrating time with it, the same applies). Also know that a qclass/qrace application can take some time to get a response... you may send your app and spend a week or so without any noticeable reaction. If you're at the 2-week mark and haven't had a response re-send your app, but otherwise, assume you're being watched at all times and RP your butt off whether you see someone around or not.
The character always interacting with her environment telling town criers, trainers, and citizens to get bent as they pass by and talk to her.
While on other occasions she tells Mobs how pathetic they are as she breaks there limbs.
She's young, rebellious, very angry, and VERY determined.
As a player this has been the first thing that I've truly begin to work for. So far I've been simply learning the game and coasting along hoping to help other's make a story worth reading. Now I actually have a goal in mind for a character, I'm curious how it'll turn out.
Three things I keep in mind when setting goals for characters:
-As a player be flexible
-As a player be adaptable
-As a player be determined/patient
