and i ran across the time where a ninja went to assassinate me and failed and i woke up with full hp. I have a bit of a problem with this considering they clearly just swung a sword at me with the intention to chop my head off, I'm assuming they connected because i woke up, why do I take 0 dmg... and if they aren't hitting me, why am i waking up?

Could have had almost no study, strangled, hid, and just couldn't pull it off, deathkiss I think it is, sometimes the ticks are badly timed too, couple of times I've been strangled/blackjacked and its for 0 hours insteads 1.
Edit: Or maybe they wasted the time trying to blind/poison incase they failed, and again, timer on strangle went off
