Are certain weapon combos better for this?

its a defense do dual wielding a more defensive weapon might make it happen more often. obviously it will happen more often against a ranger than an invoker though. More attacks per round.

While Riposte is something worth mastering, it is not something worth building to maximize it's effectivity.

Just like Parry, the most defensive weapons riposte the best.

So use a staff,spear, polearm.

And in your primary hand use a weapon you haven't practiced...if you have practiced all of them, wield a whip or flail....

I don't see why people whine... you have to spend time training weapons/trip/bash anyway...

really? I master that crap while ranking.

Dont practice whips, dual em and you'll riposte like a devil.

Same concept with dual parry.. master dagger, dual wield it in off hand, and wield a sword/spear/flail that isn't practiced. Works like a charm.

I play giant melee. I just 1 prac defenses til I get the last one, then full prac it and go train. It reduces training time greatly by doing them all at once.
