There are adventurers who go back to lvl 1 with them - you may be thinking of this.
FYI - while you can have the merc at low levels like this if you're caught PK'ing with it it won't be pleasant.... Just like have a full lvl 30 set (as adventurer) and going back to level 1 and thinking you'll PK people. You won't.

I think they lose all the rare gear. If not, they should.
L50 gear on a lowbie is just over the top.
Yes you lose everything when remorting from 50.

Not just naked, but they raid your lockers and bank accounts, foreclose your house, get you fired from your job, decline your credit line, and a few more unmentionable things. At least they leave you that nice price on your head though:mad:. At least I have something to take with me.
