Is it allowed and/or possible?
Quit a feeder clan
Easiest way is to find an elder of the cabal you want to join and make him draft you.
Other than that, only an immortal can remove you from your clan.
Which I think should be changed.... but that is my personal opinion.
Any clan leader can remove you from the clan. Kurvhikhel removed Masokant from cartel.
I wonder if its still coded to deny you entry to other clans after....
Or if you'd be so fast to leave if you knew that from the start...
Clans are not places for you to chop and change at your whim. They are the proving grounds for the Cabals. As such, leaving one won't exactly put you in good stead to join another and/or get a shot at a different cabal.
I know the people I've seen quit other clans and come to Battle wait twice as long (sometimes longer) at the Clan level as others.
Lytholm.
I believe noone here is talking about joining and then leaving, but mostly about un-shelved characters...
That being said I've tried for weeks to leave a certain clan in-vain.
I think at least ONE clan leave should be allowed.
I don't see how this rule promotes re-playability out of the game. This reminds me of the point loss of str to chars that have been around for a long period of time. I can understand its usage to to detract players from switching clans on a whim but at least one change should be allowed.
removed post, utter bull****.
but I agree you should be able to change clans at least once

I am all for this, however, when I leave a clan it means my character has found reason to no longer believe in the clans beliefs. Meaning I am not suprised if said clan were to be ordered by its immortal leader to exact vengeance for my heretics.

Would be interested to see that implied by a knight imm leader for a player who left for savant/WM.
I don't mind it anyway, everyone is welcome to try to PK me, that is why I play after all
The fact is that joining clans and cabals isn't just something your character should be taking lightly. If you want out that can be arranged - just don't expect other Factions to trust you after the demonstration of such a flippant attitude towards Clans and Cabals who are, for all intents and purposes, zealots who believe in what they chose to follow.

Masokant became leader of Nexus after he moved there from Syndi ![]()
It all depends on the character, as I said we are not talking about (I believe?) characters who jump clans for the sake of it, but characters taken off the shell ready for a new life. Ofcourse clan jumping should not be encouraged but at the moment, it is next to impossible anyway.
I have seen a couple people go clan to clan, cabal to cabal. It always seems to be PK monsters hehe. The one I can remember that was not was Narnokles going herald.
I think different cabals respond differently. Syndi and Nexus might be much more keen to accept traitors.
Depends on the RP...disillusioned militia deserting to join the revolutionary Knights is easy to understand...and vice versa. A lot of deserters don't do it because of their own beliefs but because of someone else that they respect. You become a friend of a highly-ranked cabal member and you might feel you want to be their follower or henchman, giving up your own personal cause.
In general clan hopping is not encouraged. Expect to be held to higher standards for promotions / inductions, as well as a longer waiting period.
Since she did not close this. I would like to point out that the post regards clans. I do not think that this thread is defending those who "take too much time off and get booted out of their cabals". In fact I would go so far as to say that Cabal Membership likely should be cause for denial into another clan. That is to say as long as its not profound RP that led to it, a Knight Paladin gone evil for instance seeking Nexus.
Azantar did the same as Masokant. Syndicate --> Nexus
Cabal hopping is allowed in RARE circumstances, when it is rped well and the player puts a lot of effort into it. Clan hopping is much easier, however expect longer waiting periods.
I have only seen a couple:
Narnokles - Syndi/Herald
Azantar- Syndi/Nexus
Masokant- Syndi/Nexus
Zehava - WM/Nexus
Arvelo- WM/Knight
I had a dk syndi wannabe. Asked Mephisoleer to get me into despair. He did. Then all of the syndicates were after my ***. If you ask me...don't do it. ![]()
