Chakeras strikes can bring your Protective shield down.
Some Chakera strikes can lag you through protective shield.
Bold will bring your protective shield down. Monks bolt all the time.
When fighting a Monk you need to be very VERY careful to not spam.
Just input a command at a time. Most times recalling is better then fleeing, as you can miss those.
Battlemages > Monks.

back on topic though... you should always chii blast before air thrash. You don't want to lag them with spells up, you want to lag them with spells down.

Chii bolt lvl 3 neutralizes protective shield.
Chakera strikes do NOT go through protective sheld.

i don't think anyone knows 100% whether or not it does. Nikodemus would have known but i think they left a while back.

Really funny. Two people who are relatively good players give wrong answers, be it intentionally or not. Actually, I am sure Mya knows that protective shield DOES stop air thrash. Just as it stops certain blademaster critical strikes who are supposed to lag.
Yes, if a mage has protective shield up, you cannot air thrash him.
What can you do to bring the protective shield down? Chii bolt lvl 3. Chakeras (I am not sure if all, but I am sure that at least some) bring protective shield down, if you are lucky to strike any.

Prot shield does not stop air thrash.
You do NOT always want to start with chii bolt. As with most things it is situationally dependant. You aren't trying to lag with spells down, but rather lag at the right time and for the right length to maximize the chance of victory.

LOL, please don't turn into mya f0xx. Air thrash has never, and will never be stopped by protective shield. Like mindflayer said, some strikes (be it chakera or not) will drop it, as will chii bolt 3. But just because some lagging critical strikes are stopped by it, doesn't mean air thrash is stopped by it -- just chakeras.
I want to hear the oppinion of an Immortal, because I am sure that it stops air thrash.
