Lets say I've had a character in a certain cabal, character which I shelfed. Lets say after a year I start playing it actively again and become part of the same cabal once again. What happens to the cabal skills I've had mastered once? Do I get them back to what prof I had them when I left the cabal or do I have to master them again?

FYI - its not like this if you are demoted/coup'd. You'd regain the skills at the appropriate cabal rank. Only cabal expulsion causes then reset in skills.

Is there any particular reason for losing the proficiency in the skills?
So you cannot pinn, master your skills, take 10 death, quit for 3 months, come back to get into cabal, and have all your masteries. That and I have ALWAYS felt that if you get booted by a cabal, you should NEVER be allowed in another one. Ever.
I actually agree with that. No re-entry.
I forgot to mention duress. If you are forced to leave by circumstance my comment does not apply at all. I can definately understand leaving due to crap circumstances.
You should ALWAYS be allowed into another cabal. RP over some ridiculous imaginary rules. Just expect hazing.
