can you parry in your form?
wereform
can you parry in your form?
No, you may only dodge.
Reason number 5 of my 10 reasons not to roll a werbeast.
I heard they dodge more frequently when transformed, which might not be a fact. If they do...that might be some version of comforting.
You will dodge about twice as much. Give or take. Depending on your form. I still don't recommend it against a warrior. Vs a hybrid... maybe depending on the hybrid.
I'd only go werebeast as a Druid, and then only certain forms of werebeast. (If you're looking at PK) Personally I don't really care about what I get, I think it's interresting to wait and let my character discover it and let it affect his rp.
Edit: I've always thought the forms needed to be toned up some. A Werebeast is gimped in normal classes, yes they're playable but the form hurts them more in most situations than it helps. I'd be interrested to hear if someone can prove otherwise.
Their dodged is a bit buffed up. Just fighting mobs, I usually avoid transforming. I also noticed, though haven't confirmed it, that I get more attacks usually per round, or a greater chance to land attacks. For PK, I can see wereform being very useful in trying to ambush certain caster and/or rogue types. Similar similar situation to warrior wielding dual axes. Also there are other PK perks (pretty substantial, in fact) to wereform. There are plany of other threads on this topic, though.
I see a huge response from the Pbase for werebeasts being 'broken' or 'useless', but some of my RP with my WB has been fantastic; my favorite of any of my characters. If you think RP tedious and are in it for strickly PK, I wouldn't suggest the class unless you know what you're doing and wanna stick it to the whiners;)
I may be biased, because I like Ranger/Druid RP more than most anything else. I am not a tree-hugger, but I play one on FL.

No weapon or shield cleave in wereform either.

A transformed werebeast zerk can dodge while raged.

Can still roar, haymaker, headbutt, and lag.
You'd think that different forms would do more:
Wolf- Roar (howl)
Bear- Haymaker (swipe)
Bird (can't remember this one's name)- Headbutt (falcon dive)
It'd be interresting to see the forms get bonuses for their relative zerk ability.
I think that's a great idea.
Erms...help werepower?
Can still roar' date=' haymaker, headbutt, and lag.[/quote']
Yes they can, but still no weapon cleave or shield cleave, and that sucks.

Meh, any decent opponent has burn proof weapons, and if they arn't decent, I don't need weapon/shield cleave. ![]()

For me the big love of the cleaves come from the leveling up time. I've bought myself free ranking from more than one rank sitting PKer as I just chop his flashy sword in half. (Admittedly not in quite some time, but that feeling of seeing some dicks weapon gone is a lovely one.)
I think Werebear berserkers are fun to play, but I would still like weapon cleave work in wereform. Werebeasts are just not as powerful as a berserker as other races can easily be and transform already comes balanced against the exp pen and vulns, no reason to take anymore away from the table.
It's only a small beef, but seemed the place to let it out. Over all I loved playing my werebeasts.

Yet you can't be disarmed and that rocks.

Its a give with one hand take with the other situation:
Pros:
Extra defense when raged. THIS is huge. Its even bigger in one certain form.
Werepower - some of these work well with other zerk skills.
Decent stats
No obvious down vs other similiar sized zerks.
Can still revert and cleave to your hearts content. Or cleave and transform...
Cons:
No cleaves when transformed
Transform can be a PITA
Can't choose wereform.

I concur, it's only a small beef that I have, and nothing worth making any kind of stink over, it just seems to me that the perks of transform are weighted against the race and the skill already, no particular reason to make it against external skills.
It doesn't seem like it's a targeted choice to make weapon cleave not work, just a situation of mechanics. Transform counts as hand to hand, stop. Weapon cleave requires a weapon, stop. It's just coincidence that they play on each other. And that isn't to say it should change, either, just how it seems to have played out.
I was happy with my werebeast berserker, I am always happy with my werebeasts. I just would have been happier if I didn't lose skills.
