Disarm can be trained on mobs that have no-disarm weapons (marmalade cat for example).
Shield disarm can be trained on mobs that have no-disarm shields, althought the only no-disarm shield I know is carried by a mob that would make you cry.
Weapon cleave can be trained on fireproof weapons, that giant in the fort with the flail for example.
Shield cleave on fireproof shields, I can't really think of anything at the moment.
All of them can of course be trained on mobs without those specialized weapons/shields, it's just a longer and more annoying process.
sounds like melee's got it rough.
Disarm is not hard to master. So is weapon cleave.
You might have a bit of a bigger problem with the other two though.
The real problem is not that they are difficult to master, but that the races prefered as meles are quite dumb most of the cases. Then you not only have a skill which is not-so-easy to master, but you have a race which is dumb as **** trying to master a skill which is not-so-easy to master ![]()
I never bother with any of these... Waste of time.
In my old age I have less patience for training. I remember when I was a newbie I would practice all my skills once, and work them all up to mastery. Eew, I must've hated life at that point to stomach all that training only to TDP a few days after I've finished
disarm/weapon cleave can be done at low ranks with an unpracticed weapon (read the helps to find the best choice) against the slith guards in falen dara and the lamias in old thalos..
just don't practice dagger/sword before you train disarm/shield disarm or weapon cleave/shield cleave...
that is the easy way to train them....but it must be done at the lowest rank you get the skill (otherwise it gets MUCH slower as you disarm/cleave more often)
shield disarm/cleave is the same strategy for the slith guards or any other numerous low level mobs that have shields
offhand disarm is harder....
each skill takes a bit more than an hour with a mino/giant...so about 2 and a half hours to max both for a warrior/zerk
Get a friend. Train on him, while he trains something on you.
I used to always find that monk with my Paladin for Shield disarm.
Disarm:
Don't learn Spear. Get a mob with a Whip,Mace or Flail. Don't learn this weapon.
Get two talismans to lower dex, go there with a practice spear and pass a hour failing to disarm the guy.
Just don't expect any mercy if you're training on a mob in a ranking area and not leaving for those needing repop. Nothing pisses me off more than someone training on rangers/nymphs/cat in emerald when I want to rank... and they aren't budging or even responding to tells/sayss/emotes/etc. So, I kill* them.
a-g
*attack them and them get killed by
