People below level 30 are spared now from Torment attacks.
Torments
Sometimes I feel as though we, the playerbase, can seem like ungrateful little ****s, so I wanted to make it clear that I am thankful to be at a MUD where the immstaff is not a complete bag of tools, and that my posts are an attempt to be constructive in regards to newer players and they are not an attempt to just bitch and moan - sorry if it came off that way.
Honestly, now is not the time to be playing a good. Unless you like being a corpse.
Three active Demons, two active Undead, one (now potentially two) active Vamps, and a boat load of torments that will attack anyone 'unmarked' (that naturally a good isn't going to do)? Yeah, I think I'll pass.
I agree that it's definitely not fun playing a good right now. You also forgot to mention, amongst your list of qapps, that there's a certain drow invoker running around that is insanely buff, partly because of eq, partly because of his great pk ability, and partly because of other choices he's made.
Evils have always had the upperhand since I've been here...something I'm just used to I guess.
The torments make for good RP, but I do agree they are overkill. The food and water also makes things tougher in general, which I can deal with, but I imagine new players would find it to be very unfriendly.
Sadly all I can do is watch from afar again ![]()
Seriously? 14 magic mush's in the 30's and still not full? Didn't know I had to mortgage all my mana just to feed my craw.
edit1: Okay, switched to a lowbie and seriously, I've been on for 15 minutes, all spent trying to end my damn hunger.
edit2: 30 minutes now, still trying to feed my face. Out-f'n-raegous. I'll most likely skip this plot then.
There is a certain substance that is meant to feed your craving. Whether you use it to satiate your hunger is up to you.
Violate RP or constantly starve?
Hrmmm, tough choice.
What about good people who drink blood in the real life? Bear Grylls anyone?
It might be hard playing the goodie right now, but isn't that what this whole rp'ing thing is about? Just because the plot makes it a little more challenging for certain chars/aligns/whathaveyou, shouldn't mean you run for the hills and hide. The whole reason for an RP plot is for you to... oh you guessed it, RP! Now that's cool and all if you run over to the darkside to RP the loyal fanatic and such, but just because you have to be a bit more cautious and might have to work harder as a goodie? Not something that will influence my in-game operations, that's for sure. To each his/her own, but when it comes to these plots, I would rather be playing for the underdog side and have a reason to log in every day and be fun by being challenging.
Sure, I completely understand what you're saying. It's only a minor gripe by all accounts, and what can we expect? We failed to stop this happening, so this is what happens to us. It's just, not so much fun when you recall to your temple to find... (end of the log)
A torment's life drain DISMEMBERS you!
You have been KILLED!!
Somehow you are spared the loss of your experience!
As the cold chill of death descends upon you YOUR DIETY grants you yet another chance.
You have been granted a temporary sanctuary as an invincible ghost.
As long as you don't attack anything.
You feel less healthy.
I would have 0% problem if 'marked' evils got something bad happening to them to balance it out. ![]()

buwhahaha. it's a game mechanic that's pissing me off, not just because it's 'tougher' or 'more challenging'. anyone who's been here long enough knows I am all for rp (having ran an 8 month quest that's probably the most remembered in FL). ythe food issue is a great idea, and I have no problem with the concept or idea. what I do have a problem with is the severity of it's affects. I am very limited to my time I can play, and spending over half my time per day just trying not to starve is crazy. and i'm a player since early 1.0 who understands what's going on! how would a brand new player react to it?
Marked evils do.

They do.
Just be glad I totally suck.

Please submit log and / or exact number of casts + your rank + your proficiency on Prayer.
They do.
I submit, then. ![]()
Dey
They do.
And that is?
They give up their eternal soul to a demon.
Thats all fine and well when the going is good.
But when those gates are closed, all these fools will be marked.
Then what is going to happen???
It won't be pretty.
Thats what I was thinking myself, the "mark" can't be all smooth sailing! Or else it wouldn't be the "mark" of the "DEMON LORD".
It has one obvious negative effect from the moment you are marked.
If Malch' designed this plot, he must know a lot about Revelations. Too many awesome similarities. I love it.
